Misleading

I didn’t like that i couldn’t download a paid as free version and i didn’t like the banner ad telling me that I was using an older version, to please update, and then getting directed to an app download for solitaire. Bye

Ads too long

Punishment is no way to drive revenue or customer loyalty. Sincerely, Stalin

Suggestion

Add a feature: why not add a concede button to the ‘field of play’ so that, if one is being beaten badly, one can just ‘throw in the cards’, sortaspeak (Without a ratings penalty but giving the person leading, at that time, a win).It would save players a lot of time.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for the review and the suggestion. We have had something like this in the past, but ending a game before it's over often impacts the winner's stats, their ability to actually count their points and have them count, etc. As such, it is generally seen as poor sportsmanship. That said, I do want to find some kind of compromise on this concept. Hopefully that is something we can bring to the app in the future.

Great Game App

Thanks for creating a great app for cribbage enthusiasts. Of all the ones I’ve tried this is the best of ‘em.

Not realistic

Playing brutal is not realistic. You don’t get good hands ever. Computer always gets a good cut. It should be a competitive match play for pegging no making it impossible by always playing against strong hands and not getting any strong hands or cuts.

Response from developer

Hi, as we have shown extensively with clear empirical evidence and multiple published audits available for everyone to see, the game is fair and honest in every respect and using a true random shuffle. Nothing is stacking the deck or anything else like that whatsoever. The difference between the difficulty levels is the amount of calculations done by the computer to determine the best possible discard or play. Nothing more.

Good game, interface could be better

Deal is good and random, no hint of deal bias at strongest level of play (as far as I can tell after a few hundred hands played so far). Interface is definitely playable but (imho) could do with the scores being first displayed then added to the board after the “OK” is pressed to allow a little longer to review the scores? I like that the scoring is displayed with two pegs (as in a real game) so that you can see both where you end and where you started for each score.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for the review. When a scoring event happens, the score text should be shown on your score line above your cards, and that text should persist until the next play. If that isn't happening for you, or I'm misunderstanding your suggestion, please email us at support@FullerSystems.com so we can investigate it further with you directly.

Worst option

This is the worst presentation of Cribbage available. Don’t waste your time with it.

Great game

Fun to play. Keeps you thinking.

To many adverts

Despite advertising no adds, it has adds that you can’t easily get out of that Royal Kingdom is the worst, nightmare. So continually delete app and reload when I feel like a game.
Other than that it’s not bad for keeping you hand in so to speak.

“None of the fluff” means lots of ads still

Forced ad at the end of each game, banner ads at the bottom and a ton of pop up’s. It’s like the developer is selling out or something.

Needs Refinement

I love cribbage. I learned to play when I was seven years old, sitting at the kitchen table with my grandparents as they patiently and enthusiastically taught me the rules, strategies, and nuances of the game.

Of all the cribbage apps I’ve tried on iOS, this is one of the best. I’ve downloaded several but I keep coming back to this one. That said, there are a few areas that could use refinement.

The gameplay interface is a little confusing at first, although it becomes much easier once you get used to it. My biggest issue, however, is the AI. I play at the highest difficulty, and it becomes ridiculously predictable. When the AI is losing, it seems like 99 times out of 100 it suddenly gets exactly the hand it needs to catch up or win. The cards may technically be dealt randomly, but the results often don’t feel random.

Hands worth 12 or more points should be relatively uncommon, yet the AI seems to get them with surprising frequency, often more than half the time. The win and loss streaks feel similarly predictable. I’ll win a couple, then lose a couple, almost like clockwork. That also makes tracking streaks feel somewhat pointless.

Overall, this is a very good cribbage app with a ton of potential. With some refinements to the gameplay, interface, and especially the AI, I think it could easily be the best cribbage app available on iOS.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for taking the time to write your review. As you mentioned, the shuffle is random and dealt fairly. The difference between the difficulty levels is the amount of calculations done by the computer to determine the best possible discard or play. The overall experience with an app and computer opponent may not feel like your kitchen table experience, but it is playing fairly and not stacking the deck or anything else like that whatsoever. We are always working to improve, so truly appreciate your feedback!

Commercials

They only let you play one game of cribbage and then they go to a commercial and try to get you to download all these games and it takes forever if you say no and half the time you can’t get back into the game

Finally can play w/ fam

I love this app, aside from the usual banners for free version.
It’s easy to use and has helped me finally learn to play for real, so I can hold my own during family visits.
I love the hints!

Brutal is a joke, just like the developers response to every negative feedback!

Just played another game, where brutal did NOT receive any hand less than eight points in its hand, does not include crib, the order was 16, 12, 10, 8, 12, 9, 8, and 10. Not the first time I placed a review about how brutal is bingo cribbage! According to cribbage box.com and other cribbage sights, the math for this to happen is EXTREMELY RARE, less than 1%, but the developers cling to that idiotic statement, “clear and empirical evidence “ they don’t tell you their audit is a self audit, how convenient! And the average person wouldn’t know how to read code, again, how convenient! Brutal is a joke, HUNDREDS OF REVIEWS agree!!!!!! Developers are clueless clowns!

Cool!

This App is a lot of fun and it’s educational as well!!

Frequent disconnects in app

I love this game on my Mac but I’m on the latest iOS on my iPhone and this app keeps disconnecting when I’m in a game and will not reconnect

Cheats

A simply astounding number of 12 to 24 point hands and cribs across multiple, multiple games. Never ever anything seen in actual random game play. I will certainly not be paying for this app. The developer may claim otherwise, but this is not a random experience. In “Brutal” mode the only thing in the AI’s favor is a rigged deck. I consistently make the best discard decisions and win the pegging battle, but you can’t overcome straight cheating.
