I have not been able to get into this app for 4 years. This time it’s a firewall!!!! This is a wonderful iPhone. Removing app…..again. Done.
Worst App Experience I’ve Had — Completely Broken and Overrun by Ads
This app is completely broken. It has never worked properly for me. Every single time I open it, one of two things happens: either the app doesn’t function at all, or I’m immediately buried under aggressive, unclosable ads that take over the entire screen. About half the time, the app simply fails to work in any meaningful way.
The ads are not just intrusive — they are predatory. Full-screen pop-ups repeatedly attempt to force redirects to third-party App Store links, often without any clear way to close them. The interface is hijacked to the point where accessing actual content is impossible. This feels intentionally designed to trap users in ad loops rather than provide a usable product.
This is not normal monetization, and it’s not acceptable app behavior. It feels more like adware than a legitimate application. Whatever concept this app claims to offer is completely buried under broken functionality and abusive advertising tactics.
One star. Do not waste your time.

Locked?
Every time I try to open this app it says maintenance mode is on. Does this app even exist anymore?
Not working!!
I downloaded the app several times and it’s not working. It keeps on saying “maintenance”. Help, I love this app.
New Look
Update: I still keep coming back to check an see if they changed things back to how they were. I haven’t downloaded the app cause it doesn’t look like it’s changed at all and thats so upsetting. I’ve checked their website too and for months now it has said “Maintenance Mode” so I’m assuming they’re fixing something but dang I miss how it used to be
They just changed how the whole app looked a day ago. Instantly do not like it. I liked it how before there was “This day in crime History” with a new one almost daily. This new look is very confusing and honestly completely ruins this app for me now.

What’s up with Maintenance Mode?
This app used to be amazing. I had no problem paying for it because it was just that good. Then it was watered down to basic articles. For the past 6+ months it’s been locked in “maintenance mode”. Unfortunately, I’ll probably delete it since it’s apparently a dead app.
bring back the map
already wrote a review about a year ago but i’m back to remind yall. i’m not sure if you were facing issues for having the crime map or whatever but if you weren’t then just bring it back. a lot of people enjoyed the 3D stuff but personally i just enjoyed the map. i was learning about so many crime cases local to me that i would’ve never heard about. everyone complaining about the new update is recieving the same robot type of reply “We’re sorry to hear but thanks for the feedback” yeah we get it, just change the app back man. All your newest reviews are 1-2 stars for a reason. We miss the old app.

Wish it was the same
I don’t know why you guys would ever change the app to this it used to be so informative visually being able to have to actually walk through the door of the crime and now it’s just news articles like what the app is literally called crime door can you guys please bring back it back how it was with the map do you guys even take into consideration how bad the app is tanking because of this and actually go back to how it used to be and just fix the bugs from the 3d part

Don’t Bother
Reinstalled the app after a while away from it and excitedly opened it to find…..nothing. It’s literally just a page to input my email address for their “newsletter” (which I already get). Absolutely ZERO features on this app now.
Not what it used to be
This app used to be so cool and interesting. It would let you read about true crimes that happened nearby and I could read so many interesting cases for hours. Now with this update it’s all changed and it’s just a boring news site. Uninstalling.
Do not download
Do not download this app. They are just collecting email addresses and then they don’t send you a link or anything. You are not able to continue on the app if you don’t get a code. This is an old app and it seems like it’s not been maintained and they are just harvesting emails.
Go back to the old one
This is terrible go back to the old crime door app this is stupid we can just resherch new we want the old one back
New format
Please bring back the old format. This one sucks.
Disappointed
It’s not what it use to be. I loved that it had lists of true crime cases and It had pictures for some of them. I’m a big true crime fan and this was the best app I came across. Im disappointed in what it is now because I used to spend hours reading the cases. The old style was more interesting.
Sad just sad
If I could give it 0 stars I would. I used to love this app and just recently redownloaded it expecting to it to have the basic and unique features of reading about past true crimes that happened in my neighborhood and their locations. I’m extremely disappointed on the new updates and how much it has regressed. Now they only report about news that I could view in any other news outlet. Sad.

Got worse
This app used to be really cool, showing popular cases and showing a lot of photos. Unfortunately it appears to just be news now. Tried to search a case and nothing came up while I was going through multiple pages. I know for a fact this app used to have the case as well. Sad.
Just…. Bad
I heard about this app through a Ted Bundy podcast, saying how you can come on and take a look a the crime scene through an interactive experience, when I downloaded the app and searched Ted Bundy, nothing even comes up besides an article of where to watch his documentaries. This is just a news up, don’t bother…. It’s so stupid.

Infuriating
This used to be my favorite app. I would spend hours reading about cases and now it’s absolutely useless. After reading the recent reviews, it seems as if I am not alone. Do you guys even read what people are saying? Doesn’t seem like it! Really disappointed in your platform for not even caring and typing the same AI response back to every review. Do better. CHANGE. IT. BACK.

Hate it
Hate the updates to the app. It was unique and awesome before. Loved the map feature in particular. Completely ruined it by taking away the features people wanted it for in the first place. Ridiculous.
