About
This is a color companion. The user points their iPhone's camera at the world — a sunset, a coffee cup, the wallpaper at the cafe, the friend across the table — taps a big circular button, and five colors that define what is in frame appear as a palette. The palette gets a name and a date and goes into the user's library, alongside every other palette they have ever captured.
The Library section is the personal collection. Each palette has its own card with the five hex codes laid out cleanly, and the user can export the palette in five forms — as a PNG image to share to Instagram or Twitter, as a plain text list of hex codes, as CSS custom properties to drop into a website project, as SwiftUI Color initializers to drop into an iOS project, and as an Adobe Swatch Exchange file for design suites.
The Discover section holds two layers of content. A bundled rotation of hand-curated palettes serves as the daily featured palette — every day brings a new combination drawn from professional color sources. Below that, a gallery of carefully selected photographs — landscapes, abstract textures, food, architecture — that the user taps to extract a palette from immediately.
The Learn section is the educational layer. Beautifully illustrated articles walk the user through the color wheel, primary and secondary mixing rules, schemes like complementary and analogous and triadic, the psychology of color, and a brief history of famous palettes through art (Van Gogh, Klein, Pantone Color of the Year). At the end of the Learn section sits a small interactive Color Mixer Playground — drag two colored circles together on a canvas and the app shows what they would mix into.
For designers, photographers, illustrators, people who notice colors and want to keep them.
