Excellent Crosstalk app
I’ve been looking for an AI based app to do crosstalk with for ages and ChatGPT can be difficult and this works and works really well.

Using Crosstalk along with Duolingo is a game changer. I literally have a Spanish tutor in my pocket 24-7 willing to engage in conversation about anything at any level. I've been using it to supplement the Duolingo lessons so I can actually practice speaking what I'm learning, my speed and articulation improved day 1

Crosstalk
If you want to practice crosstalk, but you don’t have somebody to practice with, this is a pretty good alternative. Cross talk is where you speak only in a language you know very well, and your partner speaks only in the language, you are learning. It takes the focus off your output, and let you focus only on understanding your target language.
I am removing one star because even when I select “Superbeginner” It is still using words slightly above my comprehension. However, when I ask it to rephrase or say something more, simply it can often help me understand without resorting to a direct translation.
Sometimes after about 20 minutes in a session, the app will get stuck in a loop and not be able to continue the conversation. When that happens, I just have to close and restart.
If the develop to work out the kinks, this app could become a go to for my language learning!

Love that this app offers crosstalk functionality and in several languages, but $9.99/mo is pricey. Should be half that unless more features are added.

An essential resource
Excellent developer response and the app is now a critical part of my learning for those times when my language partners are unavailable.

I’m pretty shocked at how quickly it responds. I had a nice quick review session in Advanced Russian.

It’s good until it isn’t
Starts out fine, then after a few minutes it gets into it ow feedback loop or something and gets stuck with a topic and cannot change. Or respond with to what I say. So this is great for anyone who only wants to talk 15 minutes per day.
Speech recognition is horrible
App literally NEVER gets what I am saying no matter how slowly or clearly I speak. Makes the app worthless.
Not super beginner friendly
Currently using this to practice Japanese, while it’s a great idea and I’m able to use it to some extent I think the ai needs to have its definition of “super beginner” redefined. It starts off with a simple greeting but then quickly jumps into complex sentences no “super beginner” would be able to answer

One of the better apps to practice speaking. In the future I hope to see pinyin for mandarin. instant feedback would also be great as well because at times I know I am wrong but ai doesn’t really give examples on how to improve. it just keeps talking like I didn’t butcher a sentence.
Great app!
This app is amazing! I’m an introvert so finding a native spanish speaker to convince to do crosstalk was out of the picture for me. The conversation flows naturally and I can easily understand without difficulties. The only reason this app isn’t getting 5 stars is because of a minor issue I had while trying it out today. The Ai kept repeating the same question like 4 times, even after I had answered it. I hope this can be fixed.
