Thanks for using Cryptical! This release is a huge update; it contains a complete security review, a smarter widget, and dozens of fixes. Some highlights: Security • The app passcode is now protected with modern, deliberately slow hashing and guessing is throttled after five wrong attempts. The passcode never leaves your device (after moving to a new iPhone, simply set it again, your passwords are unaffected). • The passcode lock and privacy shield now cover every screen, including the batch generator, share sheets, Settings, and a passcode change in progress. • Passwords generated in the widget are stored encrypted, hidden widget passwords are no longer readable on disk, and copied passwords stay on this device instead of syncing via Universal Clipboard. • Your data is safer against rare system hiccups: the app never replaces its encryption key, never saves an entry it couldn't encrypt, and refuses a backup that would contain empty fields. Widget • The widget has its own generator settings (mode, character types, length) and shows passwords in your chosen font. • Passphrases work right after installation, and the widget is now fully available in German, including VoiceOver. • The widget now adapts to tinted Home Screens, so its buttons and passwords stay readable. Generator • Passphrase letter and number options now always apply, included characters are guaranteed to appear, and word lists no longer end up in the wrong language. • Length limits are accurate for pronounceable and non-repeating passwords, and contradictory word-length settings are prevented. Passwords, backups & printing • Backups now include entry titles, restore multi-line notes correctly, accept files saved by Windows spreadsheets, and no longer drop entries that share a password. • Fixed a crash with passwords containing emoji, deletion with "Ask before deleting" off, and duplicate batches; large batches now generate in the background. • Searching ignores accents, and quick actions from the home screen work from a cold start and run exactly once. Various • Better VoiceOver support: the password list never reads your passwords aloud. • Themes apply everywhere immediately, the app starts faster, and it no longer crashes when its database is briefly unavailable after a restart. • A more native look on iOS 26: Liquid Glass toolbars and popups, and the About and Feedback screens align like the rest of the app. If you like Cryptical, please write a positive review on the App Store.
