Cubby: Curated Video

Cubby is a video app for teens and adults with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities — and the people who support them. Someone they trust builds the library. That library is the entire app. No search. No recommendations. No autoplay. There is no search bar, no suggested videos, no "up next," and no path out to YouTube or the open internet. When a video ends, the viewer is back on their own home screen. Not somewhere else. Built for adults, not for toddlers. Almost everything in this space is designed as if its users were five years old. Cubby is the same protection without the condescension. Roles that respect the person • Admin — the account owner. Manages profiles, the library, watch time and settings, behind a PIN. • Curator — a capable teen or adult who can add to their own library, but not touch the account. • Viewer — watches the approved library. Tuned to how someone actually watches Three sensory modes — calm, balanced, engage — set per profile by the admin, plus per-person contrast, brightness, dimming, captions, playback speed, larger controls, reduced motion and text size. Atkinson Hyperlegible type throughout. Watch time and schedule Set a daily viewing limit and time-of-day windows for each profile. Calm styling, no alarms, no ticking clocks. About ads Videos play in an embedded YouTube player, and YouTube shows its own ads inside it. We do not control those ads and we do not claim to remove them. What Cubby removes is the wandering: no recommendations, no autoplay, no rabbit holes. YouTube Premium removes the ads.
