User reviews

I can’t do much

I don’t like the fact that I can only use 2 sounds I should not have to pay to draw music and the only thing I can do is draw music. I mine as well just draw something and I’ll be the music. Im disappointed.

Help

I don't know if I need a stylist because the app would not work for the life of me. Please help if anyone knows how to work this.

FAQ

How does Cue turn drawings into music?

Cue interprets lines drawn on its canvas as musical notes. The position of the line on the page determines the pitch (higher on the page is higher pitch), and the direction determines the timing. Different colored inks represent various instruments and sounds.

Can I use my own sounds with Cue?

Yes, Cue allows you to record up to ten seconds of audio through your device's microphone or import any audio file. These custom sounds can then be used as 'inks' to draw with, making your drawings play with your unique sounds.

Does Cue have ads?

Yes, Cue contains advertisements. As a free application with in-app purchases, advertisements are displayed to support its continued development and availability.

What devices does Cue support?

Cue is designed to work on Apple devices, specifically supporting both iPhone and iPad. It is optimized for touch input and features like Apple Pencil support.

How can I share my creations from Cue?

You can export your musical creations from Cue as a video in various aspect ratios (9:16, 4:5, 1:1) and durations (10, 15, or 30 seconds). You can also save your creations as still images.

What are the subscription options for Cue?

Cue offers a Monthly Subscription plan priced at $9.99 per month. This subscription likely unlocks additional features or removes limitations, though specific details are not provided in the description.

Is Cue suitable for beginners in music theory?

Cue is designed for ease of use, requiring no prior knowledge of music notation or complex interfaces. Its drawing-based approach makes it accessible for beginners to experiment with musical concepts.

How does Cue handle harmony and rhythm?

You can create harmonies by drawing multiple strokes in different colors, which will harmonize where they intersect. Drum inks, like Kick, Hat, and Clap, can be tapped to add beats and rhythms to your compositions.
