Cull: Photo Picker

SCORING YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ - Scores now show why: badges for eyes closed, blinking, soft focus, poor exposure, and screenshots/documents — visible in the grid, loupe, and burst review. - Scoring no longer dumps photos into flat piles of 30 or 20. Penalties now scale proportionally, so ordering stays meaningful even within a group of flawed shots. - Sharpness is measured on the subject's face when there is one, so shallow-depth-of-field portraits and busy backgrounds no longer throw off the score. - Blink detection is per-face — one person blinking in the back of a group shot is a note, not a score-killer. Only the main subject's blink counts against the photo. - Exposure scoring now catches flat, muddy under/overexposure, not just clipped highlights and shadows. - Score colors are now relative to the shoot, so a dim indoor set doesn't read as uniformly yellow. - The loupe shows "Top N% of session" plus separate Technical and Aesthetic scores. BURSTS AND SCENES - Burst grouping now clusters by capture time first, so similar-looking shots from different moments stop getting chained together — and it's dramatically faster on large shoots. - The best frame in a burst is picked using signals that actually differentiate near-identical shots (face quality, subject sharpness, eyes), not just the overall score. - Fixed a bug where starring a frame in burst review was ignored — "Keep Best, Reject Rest" now respects your pick instead of overriding it with the AI's. - New Scenes view groups your grid into shooting scenes with headers. CULLING - Suggest Rejects is now tiered: the first tap flags only definite rejects (screenshots, main-subject blinks, badly missed focus); tap again to widen to borderline shots. - Photos rated 4 stars and up are never suggested for rejection. - Cull now learns from your culling decisions on-device and gradually adapts to your taste. Toggle and reset it anytime in Settings — nothing leaves your Mac. LIGHTROOM & METADATA - Export no longer overwrites your existing .xmp sidecars. It used to wipe develop settings, crop, white balance, and GPS — it now patches only its own fields. - Metadata is written where Lightroom actually reads it: inside the file for JPEG/HEIC/TIFF/PNG, sidecars for RAW. Previously, sidecars written for JPEGs were invisible to Lightroom. - Star ratings are read from your photos, editable right in the loupe, and written back on export. - Sidecars now follow photos into keeps/rejects instead of being left behind in the original folder. - Color labels now survive closing a session.
