About

For curious kids who ask "why?": dinosaurs, space, the planets and every country on Earth, in one painted world they explore on their own. Curious Kids: Earth & Space is a science app for children aged 4 to 8. A child picks where to go from big picture cards: Otto's village, the countries of the world, the spinning Earth, the solar system, the time of the dinosaurs, the Picture House, the museum and the games corner. Otto the otter, a field explorer, is with them everywhere, and every word is spoken aloud: nothing to read, nothing to get wrong. DINOSAURS AND THE DEEP PAST • Step through a stone time door into the age of the dinosaurs • 68 prehistoric creatures: T. rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, the giant long-necks, flying reptiles over the sea cliffs and sea reptiles swimming in the cove • "How big?": Otto stands beside each one, to true scale • A field guide that fills as each creature is found, a dinosaur tale and a T. rex chase SPACE AND THE SOLAR SYSTEM • Blast off from the launch pad and land on 21 worlds, from Mercury to Pluto and the moons between • How big each planet is, how long its day and year are, what it would be like to stand there, and who has visited • A museum of 31 real rockets, rovers and spacesuits, with photographs • Planet quizzes and space arcade games where nothing can be lost THE EARTH AND EVERY COUNTRY • A globe to spin, and a countries page with every continent and 174 flags: tap a flag to hear its name and open its pages • Each country's animals, places, food, festivals and how to say hello • 800 real things standing on the world: animals, wonders, landmarks, festivals, dress-up, sports and foods • A passport that fills with stamps SCIENCE FILMS FOR CURIOUS MINDS • 102 short science films, two and a half hours in all, that move as they are told: lava spills down the volcano, a rainbow bends into the sky, a seed cracks open and grows • The questions children actually ask: Why is the sky blue? What is inside the Earth? Where did the dinosaurs go? Are we alone? • Eight shelves: space, our amazing Earth, the story of life, how things work, great discoveries, weather, big questions and tales OTTO'S BIG ISLAND • Explore the coast, the meadow, the hill and the volcano by finger • Tap anything to hear its name, tap again for a true fact • Little missions and stamps to collect MADE FOR SMALL HANDS • Everything spoken aloud; pictures and one tap, no reading needed • Real science, told honestly and gently; nothing scary • Calm pacing for ages 4 to 8 SAFE AND SIMPLE • No ads, no purchases, no sign-in • A grown-ups' corner behind a parent gate, with screen-time controls and what was watched • The only links out (privacy, contact, rate us, our other apps) sit behind the parent gate From Potpourri Apps, makers of gentle learning apps for small hands.
