About

Take your place on the stage. Curtain Call is a five-letter word puzzle for theater lovers. Guess the hidden word in six tries, with every answer drawn from the world of the stage: scenes, props, wings, cues and more. After each guess, your tiles show how close you were. Green means the right letter in the right spot, yellow means the letter is in the word but elsewhere, and grey means it isn't there at all. • A new word every day, the same for everyone • Share your result without spoiling the answer • Track your streaks and stats • Play 3 extra random words every day, free FULL RUN (one-time purchase) Unlock unlimited random words and Understudy Mode, which gives you a seventh guess on random words. No subscription, no ads. Whether you're an actor, a stage manager, a director or just someone who loves the theater, this one is for you.

What's New in Curtain Call

1.2

November 5, 2026

Version 1.2 A few notes from the stage manager: • Real words only. Guesses now have to be real, everyday English words, so gibberish no longer slips through. If a guess isn’t accepted, the row shakes and you keep your try. • Better on iPad. The board, tiles and keyboard now sit in a centered, properly sized layout on larger screens. • Clearer instructions. The How to Play screen now says each guess must be a real five-letter word. Thanks for playing. Take your bow! And a shorter option: • Guesses must now be real words, so nonsense is no longer accepted • Improved layout on iPad • Clearer How to Play instructions Two things to check before you paste either one in: Only list changes you’ve confirmed in the build. I haven’t compiled the iPad layout change, so if it isn’t in your 1.2 build or doesn’t look right in the simulator, delete that bullet. If you’d like to mention the stricter word list, the line “Some rare words may no longer be accepted” is honest, and it heads off support emails from players whose obscure word got rejected. It’s optional. For an update, Apple also wants a description of changes to the review team only if something is unusual, so you can leave the review notes as they are.
