CutList Plus for iPad User Reviews

Top reviews

Excruciatingly limited

Adding one feature would turn this review upside down and earn the developers 5 stars: The ability to add off-cuts. As is, I need to use a spreadsheet in the shop to update cut-off lists, manually enter dims desktop software, then update layouts, RE-export to the cloud, and open in my mobile device. If this could app could update shared materials files to the LAN would be awesome, if it could consolidate everything in the cloud it would ensure it’s relevance. The market is open for developers to create robust cloud-based version of CutList Pro.

Good tool to save time

But, I have an unpleasant problem when I close the app.

When I close the application and restart it, I lose my manual adjustments to the diagrams I made on the computer at the start. Diagrams are empty in Manual edit. In other words, the export of manual diagram edits is gone !!!

Don’t bother with this app.

You can make the free version work they jest want to sell you one for $89 .00 real bait and switch

Does not function

It will not display results and can't contact the company
Waste of money

Just a viewer, but a darn fine one

Cutlist is an amazing program, and this viewer makes it better. As a DIYer, I find it really helps me save on sheet goods and decreases my math time (which I am good at and enjoy) significantly. I do wish this was a little more full featured with syncing back to desktop, or allowed me to enter cut offs and such to sync back, but as it stands worth getting if you have cutlist on desktop. If not, don't bother it won't do you any good.

For viewing projects made on desktop

This is a viewer, not a standalone app. Wish I had got into CutList before I wasted wood by not thinking ahead carefully enough. This iPad viewer will be helpful in the shop.

Excellent

You have to own Cut List which works on a Windows based PC. I have used it since 2009 and it really helps organize your lumber needs and helps avoid waste. This App let's you take your parts list and board layout to,your shop instead of printing them.

Does exactly what they say. Only criticism - it would be nice if they made a MAC version of the software.

Cutlist Plus Exec Summary: READ the direction before purchasing.

This app is not a standalone. You need to have Cutlist the software on your computer and you can then view projects that you worked on. If you don't have the software, this app is useless. Its clearly in the directions, but I missed that and now I've spent the money for no reason whatsoever. More fool me.

FANTASTIC!!!!

Ignore the negative reviews. If you read the description, it clearly illustrates what the limitations of the app are. Of you're not willing to buy the software, then don't buy the app.

With that being said, this app is absolutely remarkable and well thought out. The only downfall is that it does not allow any editing.

For professionals, The Cutlist Pro Fx software is well worth the price. Just buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Beware

If your an idiot like me and don't read the description you can really make the projects on you ipad... You make them on a separate computer program then you can Veiw them with this app

Worthless

Just a review of a $100 program. How do I get my money back.

Buyer Beware

I bought this app thinking that I could type in the dimensions for the shelves and it would help me figure out the most efficient way to lay it out on sheets of plywood. Boy was I wrong! In order to do that I need to spend $80 minimum on buying the software for my computer. Not an app for the weekend carpenter!!! Might as well have shoved a dollar in the toilet and flushed it myself. Thanks for nothing!

If this was free

You would certainly be overpaying by a few bucks. What a waste.

Cutlist plus VIEWER

Rename the app. It's misleading at best. For 0.99 I'd expect a trial or a very trimmed down version. You full fledged app trial is like that. Cripple ware, which is fine. But spending 1$ to view isn't what I expected. If I'm in the shop, I'm definitely NOT taking my iPad with me! Insanity.
I'm now deleting it after wasting a hard earned 1$

Not a standalone app

I thought was a cut list app and it is no! Keep that in mind
