CW MARS Libraries User Reviews

Okay, but

It’s helpful to be able to see at a glance which books I’ve taken out from which libraries and see how long my loan extends until. It’s also really helpful to have every library’s address, phone number, and hours listed.

But, I strongly wish there was a feature where I could “favorite” certain libraries (from my neighboring towns) and then when I go to look up books, be able to see if the book is available at those favorited libraries without having to make individual searches for the same book over and over again for every single library in my area.

When I’m on my local library’s website, there is an online catalog that tells me “this book is not currently available at our library, BUT, the book is available at *these other* libraries,” then it lists out every CW Mars library and whether or not the book is available at each location.

I wish this app had that feature in general, but more specifically that it had that feature and that we had the ability to narrow the long list of CW Mars libraries down to just a few chosen favorited libraries. It would streamline finding where I can take out my chosen books!

As this app is currently, the only use for me personally is to see which books I’ve taken out, but it would be infinitely more helpful to me if it allowed me to see at a glance, from a single search, which libraries in my area currently have available the book I’m looking for.

Needs Notifications

This is a very clean UI that does the things it is supposed to. The only thing missing is notifications. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add due date reminders and holds notifications!

A gem

This little app is everything it should be and nothing more. A rare find these days.

Great, with one major flaw

The app makes it way easier to check my library info than using the website. I like that I can also save multiple library card numbers so I can easily switch between my account and my kids’ accounts and manage all our books, due dates, and holds. The one major oversight is that I can’t find a way to remove an old library card number. We all recently got new library cards and after updating the card numbers for the login, I have both the new and old accounts showing. I can’t remove the old cards and it didn’t just replace the old card numbers with the new ones so now my list of logins shows all the old and new card numbers. Even after deleting the app (which also supposedly deletes all saved data too…) and reinstalling the app, all the saved card numbers, including the old ones, are still showing up. PLEASE make a way to DELETE an outdated library card number!

Handy!!!!

Thank you for this! It’s super handy ❤️

Basic, useful, even kinda cute

This app is so handy and I love the e-library card feature. Search works well. My only request is that Lists could be added like you can have on the web based account platform.

Its great

It is a great app

Love the APP

Great APP! I work in a library and encourage patrons to use it. I wish you could name the different users and not have to know library card numbers to tell uses apart.

A good start

The app has a cleaner screen and faster response than the website. Allowing account names instead of numbers would make it more user friendly, as would the ability to save default search settings (e.g., author, books only, etc). A defect that makes it impractical for regular use is the lack sorting choices for search results. I’ll stick with the website for now.

Solid app

The app is solid. Works well. Main suggestion is the ability to add a name to the different accounts. I can’t remember which library card number belongs to who. Thanks!

Multiple accounts, hooray!

I’m so happy you’ve added support for multiple accounts. This will make it much easier for me to track my kids’ accounts.

Please consider displaying the card holder’s name in both the account switcher and on the main screen. Right now all I have to go on is the card number, so it’s not easy to figure out which account belongs to which person. Thanks!

Great potential

I think this app has a lot of potential although it is limited in some ways. Some features are only accessible to larger libraries? I only have limited features. I wish I could see the calendar of the larger libraries in my area and not just the tiny library where I got my library card. All I can do is search the catalog, see my account, and place holds.

Handy, but could improve a little

This is a bit handier than accessing through the browser, but it would be more useful if we could switch between several accounts without having to log out and back back log in. As a parent managing my own account and my children’s, I have resorted to memorizing their library card numbers. It would be ever so much more convenient to be able to switch seamlessly by simply selecting the account.

Unexpected network error

Every time I click on items checked out it says unexpected network response: expected response

This does not happen on android which is what I was using it on till 2 days ago.

Also when I open the hold list and click on a hold nothing happens except remaining highlighted. Is that normal?

Constructive Criticism

App is easy to use. I would like to see a »remember my username » feature for logging in, so I do not have to enter my library card number each time I log in (and only have to enter my password).

Free app - some minor bug fixes could make it great

Can easily access my account and search / place holds for books. Unfortunately when looking at book details, the window does not scroll. Sometimes I cannot see all of the header info (let alone the provided plot summary). Using an iPhone SE, iOS 12.xx. The app port for Android works much better from what I’ve seen.
