Air con convenience
We have been using this app for over a year since getting our ducted zoned system and yes it could be slicker but it does everything we need it to do, we find it perfectly responsive and never had to reset/ reinstall. It has saved us having to get a separate control pad for each level, if we’re on another floor in our house to the main control we can just adjust it on our phone and have switched it off remotely many times when left the house and forgotten.

Excellent app, reliable long term
I’ve been using this app for over a year now and despite what other reviewers say, I’ve never had an issue with this app connecting to the aircon unit and working reliably. I almost didn’t buy an Airbase wifi unit because of the reviews but this app is reliable whilst at home and whilst being controller remotely whether over wifi or over a cellular connection (4G/5G). Works perfectly and even works with Google Home without an issue. I did experience a temporary issue where the out of home control stopped working but just needed to disconnect the unit from out of home and reconnect and it started working again normally.

Very Elementary for A Major Company
The functions in the app are quite rudimentary. Many items don’t match your units wall controller either which is a pain. There are different modes for heating or cooling between the app and wall for example. Whilst the wall controller allows a weekly program to be set day by day, there is no such function in the app. Why? You can only set one time and once it is used that day, it blanks out needing to be done over. There is no smarts about energy usage like some other companies. It’s like an effort from 2010 in 2025. Poor form and lazy of Daikin , they don’t sell bargain system but they do sell bargain apps. I would not buy Daikin again as a result.

Convenient but lacks features
This is a pretty decent interface overall and I am happy with it, but it could really do with some additional features. On the control panel I am able to switch between temperature sensors I have located in particular zones. The app has no problem showing me the temperature readout for the selected sensor once set on the master controller, but it would be great if I could swatch between sensors on the app. Seems like a pretty basic feature considering I can switch zone dampers on and off within the app.
There doesn’t seem to be much support for the app either going off a lot of other reviews and the lack of updates etc.

The adapter works but is very slow.
The adapter works but is very slow when controlled on the app, I have to wait about 5 seconds for the adapter to load and 2 seconds for each time I switch from the controls tab onto the zones tab. I hope the developers fix this issue and make the adapter work faster. Aside from the slowness, the app has all the features that is included in the control panel, the controls are also very easy to use, nice UI. I also like how you’re able to control the adapter when you’re away as long as you’re logged in on Daikin and are connected to the internet.

Daikin
The System is convenient in some ways, being able to remotely turn on and off in case you forget or want to get the house warm before you arrive is convenient. However there are some annoying things they can fix such as scheduling rather than just having to put a timer on every time you want to turn on all of the unit. I don’t know what the accuracy of the temperature reading is on the app as it’s different to what my Thermo shows.

Requires a schedule feature
I am unable to create a reoccurring schedule for the ac to turn on/off. This is very limiting for a highly priced operating system.
Repeating the same step every night to have to ac turn on in the morning is cumbersome.

Too slow to be useable. Room temp inaccurate
This app is unusable!! It is super slow and where the temp reading totally inaccurate. Each time you change a setting or go into one of the air conditioners it talks to all the airbases first. (1 have 6 of them). So after I change a setting on one of the rooms, it can take up to 20 secs before I can make another change. Then they have the thermometer in the wrong place in the duct so it has the incorrect room temp reading and won’t heat or cool properly or give you the correct reading about the room’s temp. The spinning “busy” wheel isn’t easily visible either so you don’t know it is busy. If you try get this sorted out good luck. Daiken service is non existent!!

App is useable but not great
It scans for the WiFi controllers EVERY time you open it or change screen which takes 30s, and THEN you can make selections. Too slow.
The on and off timer settings can only be set based on 15 minute clock intervals eg 15 minutes past the hour, 30 minutes etc. You can’t stipulate a countdown time.
The temperature of the room is not linked to the wall controller. It’s linked to the intake air sensor which is normally not applicable.

Disaster
This app is a disaster. Integration with Alexa doesn't work at all. Calling support results in advice to get a service person to replace a properly functioning module. Probably my password is causing this issue, but guess what? You cannot change the password that is once set. Also, there is another app Daikin Mobile, but guess what? The password set in the Airbase app doesn't work with Daikin mobile App. The Alexa linking service is advertising itself as running on Tomcat. Security is not something that Daikin would consider an important topic. Anyway, support is also not their strongest side. Really? Such a renowned brand is still around the year 2000 with its approach to tech and customers.

Awful…But HomeKit and Hoobs fixes it
We all know this app is terrible. However if you’re willing to install Hoobs on your home network there’s a great plugin for Airbase that integrates this ancient app beautifully with HomeKit. It’ll be even sweeter with the iOS 16 HomeKit redesign. I have my Daikin ducted with multiple zones on granular timers throughout the day and it’s just excellent with HomeKit automation or scenes. I use Hoobs for Ring cameras, Nest Smoke Alarms, August smart locks, Dyson Fans, Kasa Plugs. It’s rock solid. Grab a Raspberry Pi, install Hoobs, connect via Ethernet to your network, install the Airbase API and login in every week or so to run some updates. All GUI driven and intuitive. 3 stars Daikin for offering an API for the devs.

Practically useless without homeassistant
As everyone here points out the app is too slow to open. That is to communicate with a local device in the same network!! The cloud login does not show my controller anymore. I can make use of the airbase product only by using HomeAssistant app to manage the device locally. The product is advertised to support Alexa integration now but the adaptor does not even come up with Daikin’s cloud login. It’s super frustrating. The UI / UX around the app blows my mind in how much more convoluted can they make the experience to what should have been a much simpler task to do. Like, you have a separate mode to switch between cloud and local mode - this could be automatically detected without having that confusing out of home mode craziness. I really don’t think Daikin takes any of these feedback to the developer team as its a complete disconnect with their product marketing and actual experience.

Super disappointed
I pay 15k for an air conditioner from daikon.. the a extra 500 to get a super slow buggy app extension to control it. Every time I open the app I have to wait for the system to come online like 10 seconds. In this time I could of stood up from my bed and walked over to turn it on by the wall plate..defeats the purpose of a remote. Why can’t the main UI screen be the start up screen why do I have to tap into the unit each time. Poor UX…crazy how the most popular air conditioner in Australia has such a poor app. Do you talk to you customers? Have done any user testing?

In 2022 controlling a AC via your phone shouldn’t be a extra ad on that has a poor designed app it should be your main interface of you product. Not fit for purpose
I will be writing directly to daikin after this review, but this app is simply unfit for purpose. We replaced our old air conditioner with a daikin a year ago and added on the extra of having wifi connectivity for the reasons of being able to control the air con from our devices and also being able to control the air con when away from the home.
This app barely does it. The app is slow and essentially operates independently of the wall panel controls. If I put a timer on for instance, the app just sends a message to turn off at that time and does not input this info to the unit itself. This means that if I close the app for instance this won’t happen. I thought this app would be more like a remote but it is just a control panel which works independently to the wall panel controls.
The other terrible part of this app is using it away from home. You can only have one device logged in for controlling the air con away from home.
I thought the wifi controls were going to be convenient, but it has not added any convenience. Until the app is fixed, I’d avoid paying extra for wifi compatibility

Slow, unreliable
The whole point of this app is to control your AC unit remotely. But you can’t, for two reasons: firstly, it wastes 30+ seconds every time it’s opened looking for a wifi connection. Why is the default not “out of home” mode? Who on earth is using this app within wifi range, rather than the unit’s directly wired controller? Secondly, every two weeks or so it refuses to connect due to “out of date firmware”, forcing you to connect to the unit wifi to update. Why? What is possibly evolving in the world of air conditioner on-off technology so rapidly that I need to update my firmware more often than I update iOS?
This means if you’re using it to, say, get your vacation rental ready for a new guest or you get to work one day and remember you left the heat on, there’s a 90% chance the app will not work for you.

Does everything it needs
Appears to have bad reviews however it’s working fine with iOS, no issues with controlling the unit, does exactly what it suppose to do.
Only issue before was the fan button was hidden abit but the update fixed it. Next update would be the push notification, it’s not sending push through when someone turns it ON/OFF or over ran.
Good thing you guys are regularly updating it. Keep up the good work.

Slow app - not very Daikin
In the hope that app developers at Daikin (or whoever they contract) read these reviews, I’ll repeat the problems which need to be addressed. The app is slow to be functional , as it seems to scan for wifi adaptors each time the app is opened or you go back to the main page. Also the lack of home assistant integration is also disappointing; please introduce google and Alexa functionality. And finally, the latest update has caused the on/off and fan speed buttons to be cut off on the bottom of the screen. So, these three problems Need to be addressed. Once done, the app will be just as good as the system. But until then, the app drags down the usability of the whole air conditioner.

Completely Useless
This app does not work. It lags forever when you launch it - some reviewers here suggest this is because it is scanning all IP addresses, which is unnecessary. After it finally re-finds your AC Unit it crashes once you try to use it. Daikin has a reputation for some of the best AC units in the Australian market. This app is doing this reputation no favours.
Update: The recent update of this app has inexplicably managed to make a useless app even worse. Putting aside the technical inability of this app to simply turn the AC unit on and off remotely, the on/off and fan control buttons are now partially obscured by the menu.

So much room for improvement
Whist I love being able to control my aircon from wherever I am in my house, that’s as good as it gets. The out of home feature is useless as it doesn’t remain connected even when everything is reset. The timers don’t work. It’s very slow to connect - I don’t understand why it doesn’t just remain connected when on the same wifi network? Daikin is such a reputable brand, but this app and feature is letting it down. I’m surprised they don’t make changes, especially considering I am not the only one to feel this way - the reviews are very telling. I just wish I’d think to read them before paying for this “upgrade”.

Real disappointment for price
I paid to get smart control of my Air conditioning, but this app is an embarrassment to the otherwise quality reputation of the Daikin brand. It is not what I expect from a quality brand. The app is very basic, unreliable out of home and slow to connect every time you open it. It does allow you to operate the controls from your phone but absolutely no IFTTT, Apple Home, Alexa or Google integration. Seems good enough for overseas versions of their brand but not Australia. This is not a cheap upgrade that seems to fall short with performance and integration. I would expect integration with Google and Alexa as a minimum for the price. Feels like an app suited to the past that has not kept up with the times, but still costing as if it is modern. Either be clearer with advertising, info on websites, or better yet, just update the software/firmware to enable modern integration.
