Very good update
The update to the new home feed is lovely, and the new Live Events button is amazing, how did I live without it! Even the premium tab looks great and it’s nice to have a way to access all the premium articles in one place, although I can already customise that in My News. Great app, great news coverage, and the subscription ain’t half bad either 👍🏻

This app is not designed for a free subscription. It constantly throws you out of a free news article and constantly blocks further reading unless you want to subscribe to Premium. I am going to delete the app as there are other news outlets that is less frustrating then trying to read this app.

DE censors too many comments - even when factual. You cannot read full stories by the app. Better to just use the web version.
Deleted after limited stories
This used to be my go to app for news and the comments were really interesting to read - but since they restricted the amount of stories you can read in the week and all the premium pay only stuff I have unfortunately deleted the app.
Enough.
Have finally had enough with this app. Deleted from my phone and iPad. This paper is taking us for mugs.
Wants you to subscribe
Having read the Express for years, imagine my disappointment with them making 2/3 of articles subscription only. On a pension this is not possible to pay. It is an ageist decision favouring only the young.
Changes to APP
Since the introduction of charging to read some articles and the restriction on the number of “free” articles you can read the APP has become pretty much a waste of time. Only worth it for the puzzles now.
Cost
It was free, now the DE uses every opportunity to rip you off with a subscription. But I’m not interested in paying! 😡
Don’t bother.

Too many premium stories
This app now has too many premium stories to make it worthwhile. I’ve deleted and will look for my news elsewhere.

I was disappointed that the latest release has now placed reading restrictions on non premium content, so will now cost £6.99 per month.

Since launch of premium you are restricted to reading just 20 articles a week unless you subscribe. Due to the low quality journalism i have deleted app

I’ve removed the app due to the subscription service.
It’s not all about the move to subscription though but more about the poor journalism and the blocking of non offensive type comments.

Enjoyed this free app and the articles but now it’s just pay, pay, pay!
Big mistake
You are now only allowed read twenty articles a week. What is that all about ?. So thanks and goodbye. Will now delete app.
Not very premium
This is a very disappointing app. The news coverage is poor unless you are a Royal Family geek and the format of the screen is poor with only 2 stories per page width which does not offer the reader much choice when skipping through the news also lots of repeating stories all the way through and some side by side. Poor app and needs some serious work.

Really torn on whether to update?
So on the old version most of the “journalism” is free my wife updated and now has to pay to read anything… so really torn… should I update…pay and still get the same contents?
