BAIT - fully locked behind paywall
seems like there is no way to use this app for free, not even with limited features. it makes you do the whole personalization set-up process then you have to commit to a payment plan that will start charging you after the free trial. i don’t like that this was not advertised anywhere and it makes you hyped and interested in actually using this app before it brings up the paywall. evillllll

Very helpful
I’ve tried so many apps to relearn Chinese and this is the only one that fits well into my routines, shows relevant words and sentences that I’m actually interested in learning, and has a great UX for tracking what I’ve learned vs still learning. I wish it was easier to make which words you’ve learned as you’re reading sentences or stories instead of selecting the sentence, selecting the word, and then marking it as learned (like maybe holding the word from the whole paragraph). Also wish it taught you writing but that’s a problem for another day

Paywalls
Makes you go through all these things to set up your preferences and only after making an account does it say that you have to pay to use. You can’t even delete your account if you wanted to because you can’t access anything until you pay.
Not so great
The concept is good but not the app itself . It’s just basically reading characters and sentences . No practical exercises for writing, memorizing etc .
