Ruined with last update
The previous version of the app was much more user friendly. Photographs could be enlarged to full size and the ease of use was generally very good. This latest version feels like a money saving downgrade. Can’t enlarge photos without losing resolution and the experience as a whole is nowhere near as good as the old version.

New App
I very much enjoy the online version of theRecord and Sunday Mail. However, the new app has not been without its problems. There have been a number of times when it did not load the current version and the solution was to close down the app and start again or to wait until the issue has been resolved. Not major problems but an irritation nonetheless.

The new format is a backward step & extremely frustrating:
Slow to download
Sometimes won’t download latest edition
If you hit the back button for the previous page it takes you back to the front page.
Sudoku too small.
Crossword questions have to be scrolled down to see the questions & they jump & disappear out of view.
BRING BACK THE OLD VERSION ASAP

New format
We have subscribed to your online newspaper for many years and this is the worst update ever.
This new format is absolutely rubbish. Interactive content is very poor & hard to navigate. Trying to find past issues is extremely difficult and frustrating. Far too complex !!!! Whoever is responsible should think again. The previous format worked perfectly. Why you needed to change it beggars belief.

This “improved” app is a total disaster I will give it another week or two too sort out teething problems if not rectified will cancel subscription.
New Format
My iPad is now not compatible with new format. Will be ending my subscription. This is not progress.

I’m really disappointed with the new format of the record.
When I’m reading the paper and may have to put it down it’s defaults to the start and then you have to scroll through to find where you have left it, it also shuts down if you touch certain parts of your iPad with the result of having to scan through the pages to find what you were last reading.
