Lotsa Gammon here
Play real people from all over the world. I like having about 15 games at once, but can do more.
Version 2 brings many useful improvements. Tracking messages by player is very nice. Also ability to play portrait or landscape.

There is no clear path to playing an actual game of backgammon. Poor interface.
I’ve had this app for a couple of days and still don’t know how I can play an actual game of backgammon. Every time I open the app it says that there’s nothing that I can join at this time.
I’m sure there’s some people enjoying this, but it would be nice if there was a clear instruction on how to play backgammon with another person using the app

Response from developer
You're correct that DailyGammon is different - you must setup a free DailyGammon account to play. But once you get started, it's fun to play individual games or tournaments with opponents all over the world. You can play dozens of turn-based matches at a time, at your own pace. For help getting started please see Login or About screen: "You don't know DailyGammon Yet?" Tap: Tell Me More
Daily Gammon rocks!

DG V1.4.2 fixes iPhone 14 Pro display issues with new “Dynamic Island”. Thanks!
DailyGammon (DG) app is free and ad-free (!!) client for the long-running DailyGammon web-based application. No annoying sounds or animations. Developed independently of the webapp.
You can invite DG friends by name to private matches. You can play one or dozens of games / tournaments with human opponents, without time pressure (depending on tournament). Much MUCH easier to see and use than DG's built-in web interface on mobile.
DailyGammon has no bots (I think), unlike FIBS.
You don't need to be online at the same time as opponents (asynchronous) yet you can usually submit three or more plays per game at a time, thanks to built-in predictive model. Greatly speeds game progression.
Can privately chat with opponents for a bit of socializing, but this is no WhatsApp. (DG website also has public forums for non-private discussion.)
You need to use browser+email only to initially setup (free) account, but that’s it. DG web can also show game histories and statistics (including game download for offline review / analysis).
Once your DG web account is created, to enter tournaments and play games, this DG App is all you need.

Great!
Love the app, thanks for fixing the bug!
Absolutely, the Best App for my iPhone
Now, playing DG is never dull or boring. I am loving all the options available to sort my games; for example, to be able to play all my “zippy” games, then all my timed tournaments in any order, based on however I decide to sort, such as least amount of Grace Time remaining. Love this APP, and recommend it to all.
