Dam-daman is a traditional draughts strategy game from Java, Indonesia, played on a distinctive board of connected points with triangular promotion heads. Each player begins with sixteen pieces. Move forward or sideways along the board’s lines, or jump over an opposing piece to capture it. Captures are mandatory, and if another jump is available, you must continue the chain. Reach the far triangular head to crown your piece as a dam—a powerful flying king that can slide and capture across entire clear lines. Capture all opposing pieces or leave your opponent without a legal move to win.
