No, they don’t buy Gift Cards… The whole app is really cheesy looking with a bunch of sites (businesses) listed that it tries to get you to go to that’s why it wants your location….it’s not what you think…

My friend was so sweet to get me a gift card to a local store the only problem is I had to download this app and give my info in order to use it. Couldn’t find my gift card in the app to save my life then when I finally did I went to their website to order... there is no place to use the dapit card because its not a real card. So i clicked on dapit to send funds. And it SENT MY WHOLE CARD BALANCE. I had no idea if it sent my order or how much was left or anything.I had to call the restaurant and they were like. Yeah it just sent us the entire balance, so I had to order over the phone and use the entire wallet amount. It 100% requires location tracking even if you’re just using a local gift card that doesn’t make any sense to me. Xnay though, because its BOT a guft card. Its digital currency that you can only use at an assigned place. The password reset often requires a six digit code which is fine but you can’t copy and paste it from the email or at all pastes into one spot. And the thing that bothers me absolutely the most is I can’t just order the food through the app especially with COVID. Let me have an avenue to use it through the clients website or yelp or give me options through the app. Otherwise cash is better.Going to the reviews it seems that people giving money seem to love this app but people getting it seem to hate it. And I know you don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, but this app should be working on making peoples lives easier on both the giving and receiving end.

Beware of this info/harvesting/phishing scam
It seems like this app is made to harvest people’s information. You can’t use it unless you have your locations turned on and leave them on. Also their privacy policy is very sketchy with words like “we may retain information as long as we deem necessary”. The concept is cool but the execution is sketch. Also Studios 23 is the head of this whole operation but I can’t find Information on them. Very sketch and an information harvesting scam.

Thank you for your comments. It seems that there is some confusion. We built the app to help small businesses. With that being said, users can allow location services; that way, it shows them the businesses near them. We are also transitioning the company from studios 23 to our new company. What a great idea! I can now actually do something to help local businesses. I’ll be using this during Christmas for sure! I can now gently direct and encourage others to help support the local businesses that I choose to support. Great app! 👍

Privacy concerns
The interface is easy enough to use, but it’s extremely annoying that the app is basically completely unusable unless you turn on location services for the app. Even after I bought a gift card already, I couldn’t access it later unless my location services were turned on. Please consider changing this feature.

Love DapIt! How cool is it that I can be walking my dog (no wallet; phone only) and decide I really want a Doggeros steak taco and I can use DapIt! No problem! Yay...and I can use DapIt to give gifts of cocktails/beer/food for friends at my favorite places in town... win win❤️
New and Improved way of using and sharing gift cards!
How can you not love the fact you no longer have to carry plastic gift cards around or worry about losing them! Now with this app I have everything in my virtual wallet! I can send gift cards or load my own card up so that I don’t have to bring my wallet with me to get a cup of coffee or grab some dinner! Can’t wait to be able to use this everywhere!

Makes life easy
I have 4 kids. Anything that makes my life easier is appreciated. When I go buy dinner for the family, I use my DapIt app. Lots of places don’t accept AMEX. DapIt does. Also, the DapIt app is super easy. They can take it from you right at your table. No taking your card to swipe it and bringing it back to you God knows how long later. You DapIt and leave. Easy peasy!

Fast and super easy!
This app is super easy to use and saves time when paying for goods or services. In just a few clicks, payment is sent and approved and I’m on my way out. I also use it when paying over the phone and don’t have to worry about providing debit/credit card information over the phone especially when there may me others within earshot of me. Love it!!!

Just love this app
When my daughters forgets her wallet at her favorite coffee shop I can easily send her money back r she can easily load it. Or when my my family from out of state send her gifts they just load it for her. The best part no one can steal it or get lost
