Best app 🤌🏻
I love it. There’s a great selection of noises and getting and staying asleep is so much easier. Especially good with noise-cancelling headphones. Best app I’ve ever paid for.
Too expensive
There’s no world in which a noise app should cost anywhere near this much
Prevents closure
The app requires a subscription upon launch. When I tried to close the window, the app refused to close, and I was only able to do so through the System Monitor.
Not a free app
This app is listed as free when you filter in the App Store for free apps. It is not. Upon opening the app, you are immediately trapped in a "choose your paid plan" step and you have to force quit the app to close it.
Free Plan is Useless
If I give them money I might find this useful. As is, in the test it for free version before handing over credit info, it is useless. What I can see suggests that if I did pay up I would need to spend time figuring out on my own what sounds to use and how to configure them for a specific goal. AI told me to junk this app and just to use the built in background sounds in the iPhone and layer over that a soundscape like ocean waves. That seems easier and less frustrating.

Ask to subscribe right away, the prompt comes with a dialogue box with no option to close. Annoying!!
Useless app after turning to a subscription only app
Bought this app back in 2020 only to realize that 99% of the noise is locked behind a paywall. Do yourself a favor and just buy a white noise machine so you don’t deal with this type of business model.

the gray noise is so amazingggg i got this originally for my ADHD bc there’s that one beep sound kinda thing that like completely silences your brain but this app didn’t have it :( still love it for white noise though :D

Beautiful App
This app is great. Its simple, uncluttered interface gives users access to a rich soundscape of soothing audio. Excellent sleep companion and pairs well with deep focus sessions as well. Would love to see an Apple Watch app—being able to use Dark Noise at night without reaching for my iPhone would be a huge benefit to sleep hygiene.

Good app horrible dev support
The app itself is good, good variety of sounds. Developer support is one of the worst I’ve experienced. I’m not renewing my subscription
My weird tendencies paid off
So I was just scrolling through settings as any normal person does right when they download an app…
And I come across “Unnamed Goose Mode”
It said not to enable it, but… me being me, of course I did.
Changed my life. Immediate five stars. Whoever thought of that, you have my utmost respect.
On another note, the two free app icons are adorable. And way better than the default, I must say. Very skilled artistry!

Solution to really block out all surrounding speech
Using the rain sound with AirPods Pro, noise cancelation on, is incredible for blocking out surrounding people speaking if you are easily distracted. It really helps as I have ADHD but need to spend time focusing on spreadsheets from time to time.

Great sound quality
The quality of the sounds is nice and the mixing ability is fantastic. Good stuff, been using this app for years and years. That said, the $80 lifetime price tag is steep. I understand devs have to eat too but that’s more than a handmade pure silk pillowcase costs and it’s a similar sleeping-related luxury.
