Powerful subtle editing capabilities
Used app for 6 years. It's awesome. It's a tool. You have to learn how to use the app without overdoing it. Dial in subtle settings. Play around with the threshold and find the effects / algorithms you that work with whatever you seek to achieve in glitch editing. If you don't what it to crash don't overload you project with source material. Dial it back and the app works fine. Learning process.

Works Amazingly
I enjoy the app it’s unique and fun to use
Worked for a while but freezes on the export
Used for a couple weeks and it was great. Now it freezes on the encoding and I can’t get anything to actually export.
Redownloaded after a couple of weeks and got it to export a video successfully. Tried again the next day and now it freezes on export again. Kinda feels like I wasted my money

Response from developer
Glad you like the app! This isn’t a way to get tech support though. Drop us a line please. Lots of reasons this can be happening.
This app is great but…
It hasn’t been updated in years and their other app hasn’t been updated for a year either, if the dev sees this I hope they update the apps so they don’t loose compatibility with newer iOS versions and also make them so you can install them on macOS too and I hope if the app can not already do it add an option make it so the app can output video with transparent background if you want it to and if the input video has a transparent background already.

Love it but
This thing is great and I use it constantly for my work. I do a lot of Passthrough‘s for what I do and just discovered that the app is storing all of my takes in a way that I can’t access deleting them through the app itself, I have to use settings. They don’t seem to be anywhere on the app and are taking up almost 2gb.

best big knob ever
really, i only occasionally comment on knobs. this app made me break my habits. it indeed has the best big knob that i could wish for. bigger, better, moshed ... totally far-out moshy ...
Response from developer
Hahaha my sentiments exactly :) We are obsessed with knobs. Especially gigantic ones!
Doesn’t work on iPad Pro
It freezes on the processing screen every time. The cancel button does nothing. The developer didn’t bother replying to my support issue. Not very impressed.
They say in the store info here that a “version 2” is coming out soon, maybe wait for some reviews before throwing your money away?

Won’t work
Why is this glitch app so glitchy. I couldn’t get it to work. Shutdown after trying to import. I’m reinstalling to see if it will work.....
Moving my rating to three stars as reinstalling worked. Still just ok. I think a tutorial would help but some things I’d like to see are the capabilities to edit your photos in app to create the video instead of having to import a video into the app.

Easily the best on IOS
From ease of use the great results, DAC has given us a datamosh app that slays the current crop. Unlike most glitch apps that do pretty much the same thing, just a little different, DAC is unique in its capabilities and execution.
Put it in your arsenal and be amazed :)

Horrible UI cuts out my audio

This app is amazing
The UI is so cool and it can make some amazing Data Moshed visuals synced up with sound. A must have for any musicians/beatmakers/producers looking to add glitchy retro visuals to their music
cool idea but no native audio option?
love the direction of this app,
but why not allow the original audio from the video to stick around?
am i right that the only audio a video can have is if you add a song from itunes, otherwise it’ll just be silent?
what if i wanted to use a vid of me talking? no chance.
anyway- seems like an extremely limited move that keeps me from enjoying the app.

Needs some UX work.
I know “real data moshing” can’t be real time. But why not at least render a small sample of what the what the output could/would be.
It’s a huge usability issue not being able to actually see what the sliders do.
>The knob on the “select datamosh” screen seems very wonky and should be revisited.
> once i rendered a video and it was put into the “saved videos” screen, I found they were hard to tell apart from others i previously rendered. you might want to have some type of automatic naming convention
> if you’re responding to reviews with “email us and we’ll walk you through the app!” you obviously have a usability issue that needs to be addressed. your app should walk a user through the process.
> Your ad/intro screen seems a little misleading from what the app actually does. maybe create an ad/ intro with your app instead of using after effects or whatever you used ?
> also was bummed the tutorial section is legit a “coming soon!” lol
Hopeful for updates, it seems you have the skeleton of it down, just need to start focusing on the UX side of it. I hope the devs see this as constructive.

Difficult to use.
I thought this would work like glitch studios where you can change the filter and see in real time what the different settings do.
With this app you have to make the setting changes blindly, go through the whole process - which can take a while - and only then you see the result.
You have to toggle back and forth between screens to make changes
There’s no way to get a feel for what the changes you are making do and it’s frustrating.
The graphics and frames and in app experience are cool but I would rather have an easy to use app than one that looks cool but is hard to use.
I don’t even know if there is more than one style of data mosh because the controls are not labeled well and while it’s cool that you’ve made the interface look like an analog board, i don’t want to use it because I can’t see changes in real time.
It’s not what I expected.
the Glitch app is better in this regard.
There are also more effects, like psychedelic - super cool.
If you could combine the ease of use and the number of different effects from glitch app with responding to music, this app would be 5 stars.
I could change my rating later if the app got easier to use. But as of now I’m just really disappointed in that regard.
It’s also frustrating because it’s bro clear how to go through the process
You have to press cancel to go to the next screen so you think you’re canceling what you’ve done...
It’s just not designed for intuitive use and needs a tutorial, at the very least.

Video Export is small
The Video export is broken I picked the largest size yet the app exports the video in a small corner of a black background. I am running the latest IPAD with
iOS 14.0 installed the developer needs to fix this I will change the rating

Very Slick!
This app is seriously fun to play with and it appears to be the most promising data mosh app out there for audio reactivity.
Extremely cool to experiment in! You just keep trying different combinations and then BOOM you strike datamosh gold :)
Recommended!!!

This App Rules!! -Like seriously
Immediately out the gates this was both fun and nostalgic with the retro-wave graphics. Turns out I love merging the compliment of old videos I’ve taken with my phone and moshing them together with random stuff. The filters are easy to use, however the options are quite vast if you get deeper into the functions so it was mind blowing when realizing how many options I had but it can be used more basically if you don’t wanna get too deep into the fine details. It’s refreshingly easy to use and the results are totally wicked. Overall, I’d say it’s fun and leaves you with a final product that is both intense and professional looking. Hands down, this is my new favorite app. One warning though... it’s kinda addictive as I just couldn’t put it down once I started. Otherwise, well worth the money and then some.

AMAZING!!!
This app is a gem, one of the best that you can find at AppStore.
Cool, but kind of limited uses
Great video effects, but doesn’t allow you to use your video’s captured audio without a really complicated workaround, as described in the FAQ. Good option if you’re editing together multiple clips with a separate audio track (like a music video, as described) but not for casual use cases.
