About
Dayline draws your day as a line.
Where you went and how far is recorded automatically, every day. There is no start button and nothing to remember: recording starts when you move and ends when you stop.
■ Automatic
Carry your iPhone as you always do. Dayline notices when you leave, follows the way you take, and closes the trip when you arrive. It works with the app closed.
■ Walking, running, cycling, driving
Dayline works out how you are travelling and colours the line to match. Each day shows the distance and time for every mode.
■ A line or a map
See the day as a clean line on a grid, or over a map. Switch between the two whenever you like.
■ Every day, kept
The History tab shows a month at a glance, with a small line for every day you moved. Open any day to see its path and timeline. Switch it to Paths to see every path of the month on one card.
■ Everyone's lines
Pick a day and post its line. The map, the coordinates and the times you moved are not sent. Like and comment on other people's days, and report or block anything you don't want to see. Posting needs a nickname and is for ages 14 and up.
■ Home Screen widget
Today's line and distance, without opening the app.
■ Yours alone
There is no account and no sign-in. Your movement record is stored on this device. Only the shape, distance, duration and date of a day you choose to post are sent to the server. You can delete it all at any time.
■ Easy on the battery
Location is used only while you are moving. While you stay in one place, Dayline waits.
■ No scores
No goals, no badges, no streaks. Just the day as it was.
Permissions
· Location (required): draws the path you travel. Dayline records your path even when the app is closed, which needs location access set to "Always".
· Motion & Fitness (optional): tells walking, running, cycling, and driving apart.
Dayline is free and shows one ad below the tab bar. Your movement record is never used for ads or statistics. Anonymous usage statistics, such as which screens and settings are used, can be turned off in Settings.
