Sad decline
The app and website are unusable: the newest version of the app opens with a loud, animated ad for a video game — what were they thinking? The ad can’t be skipped, so the app is now useless to me and I am a paid subscriber! Of course, the app forgets logins so maybe DDN thinks I don’t have a paid subscription? …and whose fault is that?
The website is incompatible with password managers, so I can’t access my paid subscription content there either.
It’s really sad, heartbreaking really, to see the steady slow decline of Dayton’s historic newspaper that now seems to have accelerated. So sad…

New digital version
Nearly unreadable now. It uses nearly half the screen to advertise the paper that I am ALREADY trying to read. I’ve called twice to complain and each time I’m told it’s being fixed soon but that never happens. I just deleted the app and downloaded again to see if it was a problem with my device. No such luck. Get it together DDN

Horrible new version.
The old version ads were annoying enough - this is crazy - ads take up full top of the iPad screen and can no longer pinch up to maximize the paper - what in the world!
Restore previous version
This update is a big step backward. We lose 1/3 of the screen for controls and advertising. On this latest version the print function does not do anything when printing the puzzles. Makes this version useless to me. Forcing me to use my old iPad with an earlier version to read the paper
Restore old version!
There is nothing good about this new version. A third of the screen is wasted on useless material, as is the opening screen. We pay a lot for the ePaper subscription and shouldn’t have to navigate through all this nonsense.
