Shameless use of ads

Garbage app that uses minute long ads or ads with no time limit and no exit button. You're basically telling people there's no limited free option. I wouldn't waste my money on the premium version of an app that uses such sleazy tactics. Would give -5 stars if I could.

Use the Moovit app instead

I use Moovit & it’s always accurate this app is not

Too many ads

The ads are preventing my ability to use this app.

Ads

I had this app for many years! But it’s WAAY too many ads now. I don’t have time trying to close out ads while I’m trying to look at my bus/train. Fix this!

Ads make it unusable

Want to look at when a train is coming? 2 minute ad for gambling!
Want to look at another train line? Full screen lingerie!

I’m not a prude but I don’t need either of these vices on my train app to look at how long until the next train is.

Also wished they returned the outage tab and not listi g them on each train only.

Too many ads

If you don’t plan on purchasing the app, then don’t bother. You have unskippable ads that take a minute to clear and I don’t have time for that while catching trains.

Ridiculous

There are unbearable ads. It’s embarrassing how bad it is.

Ad-Supported? For a Service I Already Pay For?

WMATA Sold Its Riders to Advertisers
One star, and that’s generous. This is the app for a PUBLIC transit system I already pay for — through my fare and my tax dollars — and somehow that wasn’t enough for you. You looked at riders standing on a platform, just trying to find out when the next train comes, and you saw ad inventory. That’s it. That’s what we are to you now: eyeballs to be sold.
Checking a train time is not a premium feature. It is the entire reason this app exists. Walling it behind an ad is like a library charging you to open a book you already bought. WMATA didn’t run out of money and get creative — WMATA sold out. You took a service the public funds and rented it back to us with commercials, then had the nerve to call it an app.
Nobody opens a transit app to get marketed to. We open it because we’re late, it’s cold, and we need to know if we sprint or wait. And you decided that moment — that exact moment of need — was the perfect time to make a buck off us. Shameless.
Fix it or make the ads optional. Until then I’ll use anything else, and so should everyone reading this.

Ads

Just Ads. I can’t even close out of the ads after they’re done and have to force close the app.

Ads are too long

The ads are way too long, sometimes over a minute or two each. You can’t even close out of them once they’re done. You have to force quit and reopen the app to see the bus times.

The ads are infuriating

This app requires you to view multiple pop-up ads before accessing any useful information, so this is horrible in time sensitive situations (e.g., rushing to catch the bus in the morning).

Ads

Horrible user experience with ads

Too many ads

Lots of invasive ads, I had trouble finding information I was looking for

Ads are way too long

Ads are so long and hard to exit out of that it can set you behind when trying to find out when a bus or train is arriving

Shouldnt have ads…

Sucks

Garbage with ads

Trash app. Has disabling pop ups. So if you’re in a rush and need the metro map a nice pop up is there to basically make you force close the app and start over with probably another pop up waiting. Avoid this trash.

Ads make app completely pointless

The benefit of an app like this is to quickly check the status of a bus or train, yeah? Except the ad that loads upon opening takes just about as long to wait and click (multiple times btw) through than the 6 min headways between trains. Not even worth the storage space on your device at that point.

App Felt Scammish

There was no account/subscription info within the app, showing subscription status or renewal date, or any instructions on how to cancel.

Trash

Trash pushing customers to paying for a service

This apps inclusion of ads is ridiculous

Every single time you open this app the first thing you see is a pop up to buy the premium account for the app. Then you have to sit through at least 2 ads before you get to the information you came to see. It’s just the metro, chill with the capitalism.
