About
Every DCC modeller has done it: spent an evening getting a locomotive running exactly right, then months later changed one CV and lost the setup you can no longer remember.
DCC CV Vault is a notebook for your decoder settings. Record what each CV is set to, what each function does, and why you chose those values. Take a snapshot before you start tuning, compare it against what you have now, and put it back if the new values are worse.
Keep a real record
Store CV numbers, values, and your own notes for every locomotive. Indexed CVs are supported, and a value you have not read yet stays marked as unknown rather than being recorded as zero — because a CV you have never checked is not a CV set to nothing.
Snapshot before you tune
Save the current state under a name you will recognize. Compare any snapshot against your current values to see exactly what changed. Restoring a snapshot takes a recovery snapshot first, so you can always get back.
CV 29 without the arithmetic
Set the direction, speed steps, and address length with switches, and the app works out the value while leaving the reserved bits alone.
Function mapping you will still understand next year
Record what F0 through F28 actually do on each locomotive, with notes.
Import what you already have
Bring in locomotives from a JMRI roster. Every import is previewed before anything is added, and you choose how conflicts are resolved.
Your data stays yours
Export a single locomotive or your whole roster as a plain JSON file you keep. No account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server. If you use iCloud, your roster syncs privately through your own account.
On every device you own
Native on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
One locomotive is free, with every feature included. A single lifetime purchase unlocks an unlimited roster. No subscription.
DCC CV Vault records decoder settings. It does not read from or program decoders.
