Roads & Trails: Road numbers and trail names now labeled across all overlays, and readable on satellite too. New OSM Roads overlay adds much broader coverage at more zoom levels. Tap a road and the whole route highlights, with a new "What road am I on?" indicator while navigating. New Open Now / Likely Closed status combining seasonal closures, fire perimeters, and community reports. Community Road Reports (new): Report and view current conditions — mud, snow, downed trees, gates, closures. Confirm, clear, or flag others' reports. Anonymous, and fades as it ages. Camping: Dispersed camping "Smart Spots" now covers the Lower 48, with improved accuracy. Ask Deadzone finds verified campsites nationwide. Map & Fixes: Cleaner map controls and more legible labels; satellite loads faster. Fixed saved overlays not restoring on reinstall, a Settings profile-save error, and road names in tap info and directions.

Best Off Grid Option

If you spend a lot of time outdoors without cell service then this is definitely the app you need. It’s more than just downloadable maps, although its maps features are incredible and super detailed. It’s a powerful AI chat bot you can use with JUST SATELLITE.

Being able to access insightful AI feedback in the wilderness is invaluable. Need survival tips, off-roading advice, or whatever else you can think of and it can text a prompt straight to your phone.

10/10 would recommend!
