About

You collect restaurant recommendations everywhere. A friend's text, a podcast, a post you saved at midnight. Then you drive straight past the place, because remembering is the exact thing that failed. Deatours turns that around. Save a spot once. Your phone taps you on the shoulder when you are near it, with the app closed and the phone locked in your pocket. SAVE IT AND FORGET IT Say the name out loud or type it, pick from the matches, and it is on your list. Add a note about what to order there, so the alert is useful without you opening anything. ALERTS THAT COME TO YOU The alert names the place and shows your order note. Tap it to open straight to that spot. It will not nag you either. The same place will not alert you more than once every 30 minutes. THE CIRCLE SIZES ITSELF Walking, you get a tight circle, around a quarter mile. Driving, about a mile. At highway speed, wider still, so you have time to actually make the detour. A red light or a minute in traffic will not shrink it on you. If you would rather have one fixed distance, set it in Settings. YOUR LIST, WHEREVER YOU ARE My Spots shows everything you have saved, with the distance updating live as you move and a badge for what is near you right now. Trip is for before you travel. Type the city you are heading to and see every spot you have saved there, before you pack. En Route is for before you drive. Type where you are going and see the saved spots that sit near that drive, closest to the route first. You choose how far off the route is worth it: 1, 2, 5, 10 or 25 miles. Any spot is one tap away from directions in Waze or Google Maps. BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY No account and no sign-up. Your list lives on your phone, and the distance checks run there too, so nothing about where you go is sent anywhere. Deatours keeps the spots nearest you armed and swaps them quietly as you move, so a long list keeps working.
