Unethical and deeply concerning

This would be a 0-star review if that were possible. The app teaches gaslighting (?!) as an “advanced tactic” under the General Skills and Career section — seriously? That’s not debate, it’s psychological manipulation. Promoting this as a legit skill is irresponsible and dangerous. Totally unacceptable.

Interesting

So far from what I played seemed cool to me.

Waste of time

No instructions provided, so even though I understood the point of some of the “games,” others were unclear. The “debate” is literally no different than having a chat with C**tGpt or Gr*k about current events and issues. You’re supposed to debate topics with the AI chatbot, but it strictly limits how long your comments can be, so you don’t have room to provide any supporting facts (and then you get negative feedback for that). The worst flaw is the inherent bias. Remember, it’s supposed to be a debate—-but it won’t let you disagree with it, (at least on some things)! Example: When debating climate change, it completely shuts down the (factual!) statement that there is some scientific disagreement regarding whether climate change is completely anthropogenic (caused by humans). Instead, you get “red” (bad) feedback that says the IPCC has decided humans are responsible for climate change, and apparently that’s the “be all, end all” and no further argument is allowed. It doesn’t even concede that some climate change may be natural. Regardless of one’s opinion, the whole point of the app is to DEBATE. 🙄 Don’t waste your time (or money for in-app purchases); instead, ask a chatbot to debate with you and to help you understand and identify rhetoric and logical fallacies.

Loving it, few minor suggestions

Would love to see more prominent figures, such as the Buddha, or “The President” (could be generic and based on whoever’s current president) the Pope, Christopher Hitchens (or someone similar)

just an idea!

Amazing concept but why the cap?

I just downloaded this app today, and it’s very polished and professional looking. I love the concept but this is all undermined by the fact I can only type about 3-4 short sentences before it word caps me? I was disappointed by this as I was not able to type my full debate in any of the reply’s.

Manipulation ⚠️

This app doesn’t teach logical debate techniques, it teaches manipulation techniques. Such as the red herring, straw man and ad hominem attack. I was appalled. Using these tactics might give short time rewards, but it leads to damaging communication habits and hinders your ability to engage in meaningful discussions. As an example argument, it said “why would we listen to you? You dropped out of college.” As a tip on how to debate. As well as that, after a few uses of its AI resources, you have to pay. So not worth it in the end anyways.

Excellent

i spent about four hours expanding my skill on debate before i had to pay. it gave me 100 coins to start with which lasted about four hours and then you can pay for another hundred for two bucks. definitely worth it this is the best debating app i have ever played

Great idea but P2P

Love the concept and the execution is well done. Unfortunately after a VERY brief introductory period you have to pay to continue. It would be better to allow users to earn AI coins ( which is what’s required to debate) through in app actions

Best educational game for fallacies sporting and arguing

Whoever made this, did a great job! It is great because it teaches you fallacies and their arguments as well as identifying bad arguments. Great for beginners and easy to understand

not bad but not good

it’s a great concept but it needs a lot of work still. can’t send the text very well with in a debate. can’t see the text and type out so you can’t review what their statement was. and it’s hard to click on stuff but other than that it really is a great thought! just please fix it so i can send the dang debate 😭 i wanna win.

Great for recognizing bad faith arguments

Very innovative!

Really good!

But can you add a debate like something that’s got to do with gay marriage and transgender people?
