Needs an update

I like this app and would likely recommend it to my patients. I like the servicewoman-specific information. It does, however, need an update. Mirena is now good for 8 years and it doesn’t include annovera in the vaginal ring options (mentions you have to keep the ring refrigerated and that’s not the case with annovera). With an update I’d be more likely to recommend it to patients. As it is now, I think it would just confuse them.

It only talks about what type of BC to use

There is no tracking option for your cycle, health information in general, or anything helpful besides these are the types of BC available. Plus, it doesn’t give you any of the actual harmful side effects of taking BC. No wonder no one has heard about or used this app. I wouldn’t recommend this to my Soldiers at all.

The “Create your Birth Control Profile” is hidden

The app is helpful but it would be better if the “ create your profile” option wasn't hidden at first. This should be visible when first opening the app because I couldn’t find it until clicking through every information tab.

Lack of options/information

So, while this app is all well and good for woman that want hormonal birth control options and side effects and what not, it fails to inform women that there are multiple non-hormonal options out there as well. Service woman do not NEED to insert something into their bodies in order to not get pregnant. Fertility Awareness Method’s of birth control are 100% a viable option. I’ve personally been using the sympto-thermal method as a way to AVOID pregnancy for almost 6 years with no unwanted pregnancy. Download ‘Kindara’ or ‘Read Your Body’ app if you want to learn about your body and not the BS the military feeds you about how “you’ll get pregnant if you’re not on birth control”. They mean, “if you’re not on the birth control we want you to be on to guarantee you don’t get pregnant”.
