The updated version is bodacious. So many aps promise but fail to deliver. This product delivers 110%. Even before the update it was better than other apps I tried-Far out MusicReader, Four Score and others. The instructions are easy, clean and concise. This product is OUTSTANDING. Customer service is amazing- I've never experienced better. They return emails practically immediately. EXCELLENT!

Love it! Reliable app for organizing my sheet music library
I’ve been using this app for several years now, and depend on it for all my sheet music needs. I have over 9600 charts loaded on my iPad Pro 12.9" (and a slightly smaller subset on my old iPad Air 2).
I have used this app for organizing my jazz library (so I can easily find charts for audience requests on the fly), the binders for the horn sections in multiple RnB/funk bands, a few hymnals for use with a church choir, and the books for pit orchestra gigs. Pairing it with an AirTurn Bluetooth pedal has made it even easier to use on the gig (ie I can keep playing without having to flip pages by hand). I used to lug multiple real books and binders around to gigs, plus a heavy music stand. Now I pack an iPad, an AirTurn pedal, and a mic stand with a MagConnect attachment instead of 50+lbs of paper and extra hardware, thus freeing up precious packing space and saving wear & tear on my arms!
I love the ability to create binders, set lists, etc. and to mark up individual sheets on the fly, as well as to connect to Dropbox or to transfer in recent scans from other programs. The ability to load in a PDF of an entire book and then index the individual charts within it has proven very valuable to me. I haven't had a chance to test out all of the newer features, but I'm looking forward to it!
Up until recently, I had some issues with indexing and metronome tempo inconsistencies, but over the last month, the development team has been very responsive, putting in considerable effort to make the app better, and even emailed me back to acknowledge the bugs and assure me they would be dealt with quickly. The latest update (as of this review) addressed all of them.
Only caveats: understand that your sheet music will only appear as good as the PDFs you load into it, and that these files take up space. The 9600+ charts on my 64GB iPad Pro require 4.22GB. My old iPad Air 2 has only 16GB of total space to begin with, so I had to trim back my library on that device due to space limitations. This is not the fault of the app; if you plan on keeping a massive library, recognize that you’ll have to make room for it. Also, understand that it takes time to load your charts and index everything to create a searchable database; it took me many hours to get all these charts loaded and indexed. The same would be true of pretty much any program, I suspect.

Dropbox Assist
Love this app! This is the reason I bought my 1st iPad. Had to get rid of all those lyrics binders. Very timely help on fixing my access to Dropbox. We are good to go!

I have used DD GigBook for many years as my default pdf music chart file system on my iPad. Gone are the days of paper charts, pegs and attached lights blowing around on music stands. It’s easy to create set lists for a gigging jazz musician and amend the charts and make notations on the go. Good for sharing sets and charts with band members. The app and ipad allows easy page turning on the go. It has been very stable over the years and support when needed has been helpful and quick.
Highly recommended. As for future developments it would be good to have a direct camera link in the app where images could be automatically turned into PDF files and added to the charts.

Terrific app for musicians - Five Stars
I’ve used Deep Dish’s Gigbook on my IPad for quite a few years. It’s very reliable and not complicated to use. You do have to add music that is in PDF format. Once you do that, you can create set lists for any type of gig you might be playing and will save them, until you decide you don’t need them anymore. The program has a very good annotation feature that allows you to make personal notes on the scores. It also has a metronome feature that keeps a “visual” tempo. That are many other features that are included. I highly recommend it, and have, to many of my friends.

When I annotate a score and then add it on a setlist, the annotations don’t follow so I need to redo it.

Problem downloading after iPad update. Customer service gave me the solution next day. Have been using GigBook for years. Simply does what it is suppose to do. Has been a reliable tool I count on for every rehearsal and gig. Never let me down.

Verschlimmbesserung nach anfänglicher Freude
Es ist schon eine große Überraschung, wenn eine App nach Jahren mal wieder ein Update erfährt. Entsprechend natürlich die Vorfreude auf ein frisches Design und neue Funktionen. Umso größer dann aber die Enttäuschung, dass die App wohl nur verschlimmbessert wurde. Das Umblättern mittels Fußschalter in den Setlists funktioniert nur noch unzuverlässig, oft wird innerhalb von PDFs zwar weitergeblättert, zur nächsten wird dann aber nicht gesprungen. Manchmal aber schon.
Zwar ist die neue Import-Funktion nett, schade nur, dass, wenn man andersherum aus einer anderen App eine PDF in Gigbook exportieren will über den Teilen-Button, die App einfach abstürzt. Dass das altbackene Design bis auf Änderungen der Menüleisten unverändert blieb, setzt dem ganzen dann noch die Krone. Bei der unteren Seiten-Leiste hätte man zudem in Betracht ziehen können, dass ein Blättern durch die Seiten bei aktuellen iPads kaum möglich ist, da man unweigerlich den App-Changer von iPadOS berührt. Ein wenig höher und es würde viel besser klappen.

Can no longer turn pages with new update
I’ve been using GigBook for years without incident. Last nights gig was fine. Tonight…panic right at showtime! After the latest update, I can no longer turn pages within a set list, either manually or with the page turning pedal. I had to close every song and go back to the list to open the next song. This was VERY distracting and really hindered the flow of my gig since I spent way too much time poking my iPad after every song! If this isn’t fixed right away, I’m ditching GigBook!

I’m so glad GB is back with an update! It’s one of the best gigging apps around for REAL gigging musicians. I’ve used it for years and dreaded losing it due to no updates to keep up with iOS. Welcome back!

Nach 3 Jahren Test und Vergleich mit anderen songbooks fällt Gigbook dramatisch zurück. Keine Doppelungen möglich, keine Dateisicherung, Kopplung mit Musiktitel völlig unzureichend, Notizen mit iPen nach hochladen unlesbar, service grausam (0 Reaktion), email abgeschaltet?

No full screen for iPad Air
Used for many years successfully but upon upgrading to iPad Air - GigBook does not use full screen and there is no way to get support from the forum as there is no way to become registered. Seems to be no longer supported. Moving on.
