Works 1% of the time
You really need this app to work in order to control and adjust the devices. The app connects 1% of the time. So- I am researching investing in Sonos instead.

After spending a pretty penny on these speakers I have nothing but problems. Needed the speaker replaced. Issues with Static. Expensive speakers like these, I expect top of the line software. This app is trash. Does absolutely nothing and is never updated. Never will buy from this company again. Nothing but problems.

The Most BS app after spending 1k on a product. Stay away from this product. There are better product with way better user interface

App and software on this brand is shameful. Over a thousand dollar price tag speakers, worse than cheap Chinese app.

Setup software is horrible. Error reporting of even worse. I've wasted so much time getting a simple wireless surround setup to work.
I feel like I got scammed on the software
I have no doubt that the speakers themselves are very good products. But, after spending $1000+ on the wireless surround sound speaker set up, I expect great software implementation and regular updates. But, unfortunately this is not the case, and needs major improvements for both the apps and speaker firmware, as well as regular updates; the apps haven’t been updated in a minimum of 3 months. Excellent hardware deserves excellent software, but this is not the case for Definitive. I feel like I got scammed on the software.

Antiquated
They need a modernized interface and need to work on usability. It’s like DOS in the 1980’s. Also, still no surround sound support for TV mode. I love Def Tech, but they need to address some serious gaps.
What does this app do
It’s pretty useless app, shows I have a connection with W Studio system and my W7 speakers, does nothing else, really sorry I spent all this money on speaker system that has no blue tooth, uses only WiFi and never stays connected! Yes I have a new router and modem purchased just for this system. Also no connectivity with Alexa, Siri. You need to work both apps for your equipment

Lack of ITunes Support
FAQ needs step by step directions on how to interface with iTunes library. Tech owned off on Play-Fi. Either own the product and complete functionality or suggest to look at Sonos.
Would rate it lower, if possible- doesn't connect to W Studio
I have no way to determine if this app does what it is supposed to do. It will not connect to the W Studio. Support on the Definitive website is lacking for it (to be fair I haven't tried calling yet). Please update or build the functionality into the Definitive App for streaming that does connect correctly.

App is awful
Fire whoever created this crappy app.
App Remote Doesn't Work
The remote control through the app does not work. And now that my physical remote doesn't work I am sitting in my living room with an expensive box that also... doesn't work. This seems to be such as simple fix, it also seems lazy to have not done so already. I guess some people don't like money.
Needs update
App is old and needs an update, keeps crashing.. Sad i just bought into the playfi system instead of sonos and now have every playfi device through definitive w9,w7 wamp etc of i had known the software (and the software is just as important as the hardware w this type of system. Please update!!!

Songza has been done for months now and the app still has yet to update to google music. I’ve always loved deftech and have lots of their gear, so I was excited when I was going to pull the trigger on sonos a year and a half ago to learn deftech was coming out with a competitor. the interface is mediocre at best. NEED APPLE MUSIC INTEGRATION! I have 4 w amps connected to in ceiling speakers throughout the house. app just not up to the quality you would expect from a company like deftech.

Works for wired speakers only
It only works for wired speakers. I have to say, it worked very smoothly to upgrade the ethernet-wire-connected speakers.
But for the wireless speakers, for example, "W Studio" (it does not have the ethernet port), it never worked since the first release!
Did any developers ever tested it on a wireless speakers?
