What you do not have is a record of who has already heard which one — so you find out mid-sentence, from the look on their face. DejaTold is a private card catalog for the stories you tell. Every story gets a card with a catalog number, and every telling gets stamped onto its circulation record: who heard it, and when. Before you see someone, you can check what is still fresh for them. THE CATALOG Story cards with a title, a gist, and a note. Three sorts that are actual features: Fresh material, Getting dusty, Overtold. THE STAMP Marking a story told is a press-and-hold rubber stamp that prints the date onto the card. No two prints land quite the same. THE REPEAT GUARD Pick someone who has already heard it and the card says so, with the dates. It never blocks you. Tell it anyway if you want to. FRESH FOR ANYONE Open a person and see what they have not heard yet, plus the riffle: hold to shuffle the deck, let go to draw one.
