Defender Chronicles Dreaming
My heart wants to love this after really fond memories of the Defender Chronicle games. The game is still fun, just sadly nothing as fun as the OGs DC series of games.
Update Defender Chronicles Please
I would love to play your amazing older game Defender Chronicles 1 & 2.
Why this mess?
What happened to Defender Chronicles 1 & 2? Why would you update this but not those?
Defender chronicles на минималках
Старая добрая игра, в 3d и урезанная в части кастомизации
Leaves a lot to be desired
Ill start by saying I really enjoy both the concept and the aesthetics. The modeling and art in the game I really enjoy. As far as gameplay, the mechanics of the actual tower defense is solid. Enemy units are fresh and unique.
However, there are several things that I find extremely shallow. For example, “levels” gained by your fighters are not at all explained - so you may gain levels, but you’ll have no clue what that actually does for them. Does it increase their stats slightly, or unlock higher tier gear you can buy? I still dont know, but my hero is level 58 and my fighters are level 19, if that tells you anything about the lack of explanation.
Second, there’s some huge missed opportunities around the “hero”; there’s only the one, and it’s nothing special. The hero doesn’t have special abilities, but the fighters do? Seems a bit backwards. I would hope for selectable heroes with different skills that can be improved/upgraded based on the hero’s level.
Third, the gearing. It’s a very minor incremental boost to one of 6 stats. Usually I find gearing fun, but the implementation here is quite predictable and dull. Very little variation from piece to piece.
I enjoyed learning the game and playing it for a few hours. I hope the devs made a little money on the ads I watched. This game has a great foundation, I hope they continue to expand upon it. It truly has the potential to be a great game if the devs continue to develop it. I gave this game a shot because the devs also worked on Defender Chronicles years ago, which was my favorite mobile game for a long time. Hopefully they pull some concepts from that and implement them here.

Rough around the edges BUT...
...***note to James Dunigan - I do not work for the developers and I am a she. I work for a well known supermarket and I spend my days serving ignorant customers who aren’t aware what social distancing is. Hardly the glamorous lifestyle of a game developer 👩💻 I’m just a TD geek and I LOVE this game. It is worthy of its five star rating if you bothered to give it a chance...however I do think the Royal Seal price of £19.99 is way to high and I would get it if it was cheaper like £4.99. This game is very much down to strategy and grinding. It’s probably in my top ten fav TD’s of all time and I have lots in my collection including the classic Commando Jack.
It’s a most enjoyable TD! I’ve played the first few levels and got the ten stars to unlock the Knight. It annoying but in a challenging way when you are confronted by flying enemies and you haven’t got enough archers but then that’s why it’s challenging and you can play the level again without any intrusive adverts. Lots of equipment to upgrade your units with. It’s not too over complicated like some games are. I would like to be able to zoom in and out of the maps to see the entire field but that’s just a small thing and doesn’t take away from enjoying the game. The graphics aren’t polished but the gameplay totally balances that out and frankly some games look breathtaking but gameplay is almost non existent so graphically it’s charming in a rough around the edges way. Note to the developers, don’t mess with the graphics 😃 Lots of levels and upgrades. Nice to see a female heroine. Ticks all my boxes. A very, very nice addition to my TD collection 👍

Update
Please add unit, castle and equipment upgrades with special affects when upgraded, new units, more dailies and siege mode to play as enemies( unlocking access to all monsters ). When will you respond? How do I unlock the relic temple?
Fun, but P2P
Really fun game at first, but after playing for 2 hours straight, it becomes clear that you have to pay to play. Fun concept, and enjoyed the mechanic of leveling up your stuff, but just a heads up for future players: it will cost you a little extra to continue playing.
Great Gameplay, Would Recommend!
Had the game installed for about a month now. The gear system is great, strategy is necessary, and overall, a decent Tower Defense that doesn’t require much interaction except for queuing your next tower. The devs pay attention to feedback, and the discord channel helps make conversation between other players easier.
After a certain point it becomes a bit of a grind to move forward. I purchased the silver hourglass and the $20 package to remove forced ads and get the whole kit. This made a significant impact, and gave some great daily bonuses. The time relics really help push the progression forward. Still challenging and keeps me coming back!

Just a grind.
I was looking forward to trying this game. I loved Defender Chronicles. Which (up to a certain difficulty level anyway) was always winnable with proper strategy, even without fancy equipment or a high level. Not so with this game!
Literally the only way to progress is to grind, which is somehow especially boring with this game. Maybe because the mechanics and equipment are all so straight forward. I can sometimes win a level that is red and supposedly should be unwinnable for me. But at this point I’ve won all the stars I can, everything else is red or locked. I don’t even think buying the golden seal (a rip off at $20) would help. If it was $1 or $2 I’d probably try it. My only option now is to grind or quit. I quit.
I also find the controls a little counterintuitive. Instead of having a build menu that is always open or that pops up when you tap a build spot, you have to open a build menu and then drag to the build spot.
I have this complaint about lots of games: What is the point of the 3d aspect? It doesn’t look good or affect the game mechanics. It just makes it harder to see what’s going on. You can’t zoom out and see the full playing field either.

Endgame Difficulty Issues
Really enjoyed the game initially, but as the game progresses towards later stages, the difficulty bump becomes insurmountable. Your units max out at level 80 which still leaves most of the late levels in the red. Weapon/equipment pricing is rigged, always just a little bit more gold than I have, and if I grind out a level or 2, the equipment in the shop changes. Money grab obviously, but just makes me want to move on to another game.

Forced Ads
Was fine until the forced ads started then it was goodbye.

Time relic problem
Hey guys! Loving what you have made here, but the only issue I’m hit with is that when the time relic icon shows above a map I don’t get the option to use my relics anymore. I’m on the 10th map and it started happening roughly after finishing map 4 please help
Pay to play
1/3 way through the game, simple can’t get any gold. thrumpflump whatever his name is probably works for them. Bumping up their rating.
Too many ads
They should not be required to receive your dailies. Very annoying
Re-review
I made another review and in it I listed a couple of problems I had understanding the game the difficulties I had reading the small(to me) writing. I also misunderstood parts of the game that are crucial in advancing and said that I liked the game and said I’d review it again if I found these issues were mine and not the game, ands that’s why I made a second review. The issues I was having were all me and I don’t need to go into more than I already have. This isn’t a good TD it’s a great TD. All the things good about other TD games but with so many extra things that make this game more challenging and infinitely more re-playable. The levels within levels and the incredibly neat way items are offered and how the shop works is so much better than all other TD’s, and it’s almost like it’s a new concept in a game rather than just another TD. I can’t say enough good things. TD’s can get tedious repeating the same level over and over just to pass a level without any kind of reward this game gives you coins or equipment when you play levels multiple times your always advancing even though you play a level multiple times. If it’s not the best TD you have ever played it is right there at the top alongside whatever your best TD game is.

Good Tower Defense
I’m happy with this game overall. It has many challenging levels that require some thought to win.
There is a bug with the achievements now. Every time I open the app I get notifications of every achievement. After visiting the shop or completing a level all of these notifications repeat again. I’m sick of it. Also, many achievements I’ve already completed do not appear as completed (locked). Please fix this soon!

Paywall
Great game mechanics and execution. You will hit a massive pay wall around 25 stars or so (a certain weapon is required). You can grind forever or pay $20 to get 50,000 coins to buy said weapon for 30,000ish (the price fluctuates for an unknown reason). Really a big turn off.
