About

You're walking to the station. There's one thing you need to know: is my train still running, and what platform is it on? DepartureBoard answers that before your screen locks again. Pick where you're starting and where you're going. That's it. No account, no setup, no journey planner asking you to enter a date and time you already know. You get a live board for your route: the next trains, their real times, their platforms, and whether anything has gone wrong. BUILT FOR THE WALK TO THE PLATFORM Live status on every service. On time, running late, or cancelled, marked with both a colour and an icon so it reads at a glance and in bright sunlight. Real times, not booked ones. When a train is delayed the revised time takes the lead and the scheduled time sits struck through behind it. No mental arithmetic on the concourse. Countdowns that tick. "in 4 min" counts itself down while you watch, so you always know whether you can still make it. Sorted by when trains actually leave. A delayed service drops below the one now leaving ahead of it, exactly as it would on the board above the barriers. Platform numbers, large and unmissable. WIDGETS THAT DO THE CHECKING FOR YOU Small widget: your next train, its time and its platform. Medium widget: the next three, so you can see your fallback. Lock Screen widget: the glance you make without unlocking. Tap any of them to open that journey in full. SAVE THE ROUTES YOU ACTUALLY TRAVEL Save a journey once and it is one tap away, on your Home Screen, on your Lock Screen, or in the app. Rename them to whatever you call them: Work. Home. Mum's. SEARCH THAT KEEPS UP Stations you have used recently are waiting before you type a character. Results arrive as you type. Every station shows its three-letter code, so you never pick the wrong Waterloo, Victoria or Parkway. QUIET BY DESIGN No account. No ads. No analytics or tracking SDKs. No notifications you did not ask for. Open it, look, put your phone away. Every departure reads properly in VoiceOver, including delays, cancellations and missing platform numbers. When you are offline you are told plainly, with a retry button that actually retries. Live departures for National Rail services across England, Scotland and Wales.

What's New in DepartureBoards

1.2.0

August 28, 2026

Platform 7. Four minutes. Go. This update rebuilds the board around the one question you're actually asking on the platform: can I still make it? Every departure now carries its live status — on time, running late, cancelled — with the revised time front and centre and the booked time struck through behind it. Countdowns tick down on their own. Trains sort by when they'll really leave, not when they were meant to. Widgets grew up too: the medium size shows your next three trains, and there's a new Lock Screen widget for the glance you make without unlocking. We also fixed the bug that hid saved journeys from the widget entirely — pick your route and it's there. Station search remembers where you've been, answers as you type, and shows station codes so you always pick the right Waterloo. Smaller things: saved journeys use real station names, offline screens have a retry button that actually retries, and every row reads cleanly in VoiceOver.
