DePattern: Open in App Blocker

Some websites have stopped trusting you to read them. You open a link in Safari and an overlay slams down: "Open in our app." You scroll into an article and a promo overlay slides in: "Limited time — 20% off, use code SAVE20." You click "Reject all" on a cookie banner — it doesn't go away. These aren't features. They're dark patterns, and they make the modern web hostile to read. DePattern removes them. WHAT IT DOES • Removes "Open in App" overlays and floating app-install nags • Hides in-page promo overlays — discount popups, app-download nags, promotional modals • Auto-declines common cookie-consent banners • Cancels forced deeplink redirects that try to bounce you into a native app • Restores scroll when a removed modal left the page locked KEPT FRESH DePattern's rule list is curated by hand and refreshed about twice a week. The app shows you the last update date right on the home screen — no guessing whether it still works. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO DePattern works inside web pages. It cannot remove Apple's Smart App Banner — the strip with the OPEN button that Safari draws above the page. No Safari extension can hide that, and we'd rather tell you up front than have you find out after. DePattern is not an ad blocker. It targets one thing: the in-page nags that interrupt reading. PRIVACY Your browsing stays on your device. DePattern's Safari extension never sends the pages you visit anywhere. No account, no browsing history, no ads. HOW TO USE 1.
