Depth background

Does not work properly with iPhone X. Took several photos and only portions of the background would erase leaving jagged edges and portions not erased at all.

Decent

Couldn’t get it going at first, wouldn’t accept my Portrait Mode images at all, but then re-read the error message and realised your Portrait Mode images must have been taken after upgrading to iOS 11 first.

Tried it with some iOS 11 shots and seems to work okay. Will update review after some more time with it.

Works Quite Well

The app works quite well! Please be aware that the app is only a preview; it won’t let you export until you pay to upgrade. I exported an edited photo and it worked quite well.
For older reviewers: please read the pop-up that shows up on the app when you try to edit a photo. You need to have iOS 11 installed, the picture must be taken in Portrait mode, and you can’t use any photos taken on iOS 10. I own an iPhone 7 Plus, and it works just fine.

Not Functional

App doesn’t work on my iPhone 7+. Says “no depth information present.”

Needs work. Wait for an update.

Doesn’t work.

Tried several images taken in “Portrait Mode” and followed the specific instruction and still does not work. Sorry, great idea but horrible execution. Deleting! It is not good to release a product that has obviously not been tested and proven to work. Would give No stars if I could!

Lightening fast background removal

This method of removing background by depth is so fast, and in terms of a camera to layout workflow, this will a shave significant chunk of time off of that process. The only negative is that there is no function (yet) to rename the png before it is uploaded. It would be good to have an export as pdf option because many images are better rendered in motion graphics apps a pdf rather than as png. The app only allows for 1 image at a time for export. It would be great to be able to save images locally and export in batches via airdrop once wifi is available.

Needs work

I have taken many Portrait pictures on a 7 Plus and imported them into my iPhone 8 (not Plus) and this app wont work with photos already taken in Portrait mode from a Plus phone if attempted on a non-Plus phone with the app.

Hello. I’m sorry the app doesn’t work with transferred photos at the moment. I’m afraid there’s an iOS limitation that means that the depth information is lost when a photo is transferred between devices, and that’s not something I can work around. I should make it clearer in the app description that the app has to be used on the phone where the photos were taken, and I’ll do that for the next version.

Doesn’t Work

I have taken several pictures in portrait mode and have made sure that the effect was active. Every time I open the picture with this app it says background data not found.

Neat concept but

Doesn’t work with iPhone 7+ contrary to app notes.
