Streamlined timesheets

We recently adopted deputy timesheets and so far have found it’s streamlined our shift logging processes. The kiosk app is fast, responsive, and easy for staff to use.

Essential for my business

Deputy Kiosk eliminates the possibility of “buddy punching” whilst keeping all the clock records digitised. It also allows me to ensure colleagues have read essential messages.

The staff can use it, I love it! It's very logical and removed the constant texting about when their shifts are! Peace of mind is very valuable!

What a time and headache saver

Using Deputy has save us loads of time every week and greatly simplified rostering. It’s very easy to use and has all of the features required for both employee and employer. No more having to call around to get shifts covered. No more absenteeism. Much greater roster flexibility. Roster and pay reports generated instantly. Shift and weekly stats make it easier to curb spending and reduce redundancies. The list of pluses goes on.

So far, so good.

Works really well over our 5 locations. Easy to use and the reporting is fantastic.

Simple, intuitive, effective

So far our staff have had no troubles using the Kiosk. (Aside from the normal “I forgot to clock in or out” issues that arise with any system. )
Its intuitive and simple and very effective in that it saves me time and hassle at payroll time.

Easy to use except for...

The kiosk is great, I did not originally have it in use for my office but recently had two employees break their phones. I setup the kiosk using an older iPad that was scheduled for disposal and it works great even with an older iOS. I like that the "start screen" has the news feed that employees can see before they log in/out. The only thing that gave me trouble was the camera, it had difficulty taking pictures until I got it in perfect lighting conditions which may not always be possible depending on your business. Perhaps Deputy can offer an option to manually take the photo if the auto-detection does not work. I'm also not sure if there is a timeout option if an employee does not logout, that would be cool for forgetful students. The other option is that if the iPad is turned off it would logout the person also? Those are just some small ideas but could potentially be helpful, other than those small things I have really enjoyed the kiosk!

Constant Improvement

Is not just that the app is great, but also that they are constantly improving it. It's not about this app it is about how awesome Deputy is.

Changed everything

This is truely changed the way I communicate with my admin team and process time sheets from employees. Timesheets sync with Xero seamlessly and Deputy is one of the few apps which ACTUALLY SAVES YOU MONEY! I love using it and everyone in the team constantly praise how quick and easy Deputy is. Do yourself a favour and get it as soon as you can.

Great app

Just started using Deputy and it works really well. Some slightly better bespoke options would be good. Support is superb. It is almost a fun game to ask a question in the middle of the night to see if they reply - and they do!

The app delivers as promised. Using the kiosk with the deputy timesheet service saves me several hours every week on payroll. I investigated several solutions and this was by far the best.

Excellent app to integrate with zero and very effective in organiisng the employees

Timeclock & Scheduling that works!

We are a small business of around 20 employees across a few different departments and locations. We use iPads for the majority of our payment transactions on a daily basis, so it only made sense to look for a time tracking and scheduling solution that was also compatible with iPad. We spent nearly 2 years using a much simpler time clock app that covered the basics of clocking in and out, but syncing across all of our devices was not reliable, and I often had to adjust times for our employees. It also lacked scheduling, communication, and task list features. When the company decided to raise their prices without introducing any new features, I knew it was time to look elsewhere.

I then spent several months trying just about every time clock app I could find that was also compatible with iPad. I wasted a lot of time creating trial accounts, only to find major software limitations or ridiculously high monthly pricing for our needs. Nothing seemed like the right fit for our business.

The Deputy suite of apps and software, however, stands out from the rest in a lot of important ways. First of all, it just works. Syncing works across all of our devices immediately. I have not noticed a single glitch with regards to timesheets since I have been using the app. Their customer service is top notch. I have had a few questions regarding functionality and features that are different from our previous time clock solution, and the support team has provided an answer to each question within just a few minutes. Scheduling was extremely easy, and now our employees are more informed as to when they are working. They also have the ability to create reminders for themselves so that they don't miss a shift. We haven't used task lists yet, but I think there is a lot of potential there for increased productivity and communication. And one of the most important features, in my opinion, is the team communication with the ability to leave company announcements. Announcements can be made anytime from anywhere regarding sales, holidays, performance, responsibilities, etc. Now we don't have to search out and speak to each employee about an event because announcements are visible to everyone as soon as they clock in. Also, employees can download the Deputy app on their smartphone for clocking in and out, checking their schedule, requesting time off, etc.

As with all programs, there is still room for improvement. I would like to see less limitations across the entire system (i.e. more integrations with less restrictions, more employee/area customization, and more scheduling features) as well as an easier workflow for submitting and approving timesheets (i.e. bulk approve all employees, allow future timesheets, etc.). Timesheets are probably the most unattractive feature on the entire system and just haven't been implemented very well in my opinion, neither in the app nor on the Web. Employees can't even check the number of hours they have worked each week from within the app. Other than some small things, Deputy has a lot of great features for small to medium-sized businesses, offers reasonable pricing, great customer service, and like I already said, just works!

Simply great!

Deputy Kiosk combined with Deputy is all we need to managed our team! No more paper work for recording shifts and hours. We were anxious that the team will not want to use it but from day one they love it and using all available features. Thank you for making my life easier.
