Lossy Resizing

I was deeply enjoying this product, until I took my processed photos to a larger screen and noticed horrible image artifacts in the resized image. Very disappointed: I had to delete all of the desqueezed images and rescale them in Photoshop.

Great for its job!

Exactly what I was looking for, with the old interface being easy to use and very simple.

Great app

Perfect for batches and easy to use

Good

Good

Easy to use. Fast resizing. Lots of options.

This app has everything you need for resizing photos quickly and efficiently. It has a nice clean well laid-out user interface. One thing that would be nice would be to see the image file size on each image. It show the dimensions in pixels.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review. Please try the new update 4.5.9, which adds the file size for each image on the gallery screens.

It’s does what it say

It’s a good app but they do not offer a 1.1 desqueeze for the DJI osmo pocket 3’s anamorphic lenses

Anyone Else Upset

That they turned this great free app and made it literally unusable by adding a stupid watermark to all your created images. Wanting to be profitable is one thing but alienating your entire “free user” base is beyond absurd. Even with the lack of many other quality options I finally found an alternative app that has an excellent level of quality to it similar to this app. But without the issues introduced to this app recently.

The app is called

“Image Resizer - Photo Compress”

and has an orange red logo on a white background with 4 dots in each corner. The app has the same features of desqueeze but also has a bunch of others such as changing the metadata of the images, location data, type of file (png, jpg, etc) and even if you want to delete the original images once the new images are processed! Overall, this app is much better than desqueeze.

I wasn’t paid by the other app for this. This is my own opinion. They routinely have offered the app I mentioned above, the lifetime subscription for it absolutely free which is how I initially got it. So 100% free for a lifetime of use. No watermark and a lot more useful features than desqueeze.

Check it out if you were having a hard time finding alternatives to desqueeze.

not free

the only reason i downloaded this is because i need to be able to input custom numbers for resizing which it worked for but then it adds a watermark to the photo and says you have to pay to remove it. Just for a resize lol so i had to go through the extra step of photoshopping their watermark off the picture. so it's just unnecessary.

Good App, Bad Watermark

This is app is really good and does exactly what it advertises. However, in a recent(ish) update, there is now a watermark on exports for free users. Of course, the app has to make money, but would love if there was an option to watch ads to get rid of the watermark or something similar - for a lot of free users the added watermark removes most of the value from the app.

What happened?

I don’t like the new interface at all. I can’t get my photos to resize or use a template. I used this every day for fast resizing now I’m so frustrated. Why do developers try and fix a good thing? At least give an option to go back to the previous version as it is way too complex now, used to be my favorite but I will be looking for something more simple once again!

EDIT
It’s 5 stars again!! Thank you to the dev for updating to make it better than before!!

New update 4.1.0, released on November 7, adds Home Screen modes and should fix your issue. You can now select Classic mode to use the interface as it was before. Your personal templates are in the "My templates" tab.

Wow your team is the best!

Just over two weeks ago (Oct 23 2024), they released the new 4.0 interface. I posted a review about that, with a request to provide a user setting to select the home page style as I preferred the original style. WOW, they added this feature in todays release (Nov 8 2024)! Thanks for listening to your customers and actually implementing this setting - your team is the best!

Love this app, but not fan of new 4.0 interface

I have used this app for a couple of years now and love it. However, I am not a fan of the new interface - it is definitely not an improvement for my way of using this app. I understand that different people use the app with different workflows.

Previously, I could open the app and immediately see the list of my recent photos. I would pick my photo(s), click next, select the manual resize settings, then click next and get them done - very quick.

Now, with 4.0, I see a screen with all kinds of target resize template options instead of my list of photos. I very rarely use the provided templates. Now I have to click a plus sign (+) to see the list of my photos, then select my photo(s), and then click [Add] to get to the manual resize settings screen.

Suggested enhancement: Provide user setting to select the default screen when app is first opened - option a. List of templates and option b. List of photos. Thanks for your consideration.

Does What It Says

This app is just what I was looking for. The provided templates keep things simple and the folders for originals, photos, and videos in the Photos app keep your work organized. It’s well worth the price!

Thank you for your review.

It used to be good

I have been using the app for 3 years consistently and it worked amazing. Recently I have noticed when using the app, I will click on the photos to compress and after clicking to the button the app freezes and then goes back to my Home Screen. Once I refresh it three times, then it starts to work. I would recommend fixing this bug.

Cannot save to photos app confusing.

Amazing

I have been using this app for years. It’s still the best resizing app I’ve ever used. Thanks
