Really excellent game…
Takes a little bit to learn the mechanics, but it’s definitely not a deterrent. Start with the first story, click the different suspects on the map, listen to their interviews and click on the words in the story to get more clues. You can click the green clue words on the top as well for sometimes even more information or clarification. Frequently you need to re-question a suspect 2-3 times to also get more information and clues. Then choose your suspect and submit your investigation report to see if you are right and collect your points. If you get it wrong you can replay each story. It does ask for your location because it gears the story around areas familiar to you, but you can deny location services without it hurting the mechanics.
It’s a neat and unique concept that I am really enjoying playing.
The graphics are static but with the old “detective novel” cover look to them, (think 1940’s/1950’s book covers) it makes the game really relaxing and enjoyable to play. Occasionally the wording is odd compared to standard English, but absolutely not a detractor to the game. The stories keep you engaged just right to make you want to keep playing. I actually had to stop myself on purpose. There are no ads, and no purchases needed so far. This is definitely a keeper and one I would gladly pay to help support the developer to continue building more into the game.
