Currently unusable
I've checked several times if I am on the latest version (which I am), because when I'm visiting dev.to posts within the app, after an arbitrary amount of time I always get sent back to the feed list mid-read. This happens consistently, so I can never finish reading an article. Please developers, fix this bug.

Please fix the scrolling
The content is good, but the UI is way too touchy with swiping/scrolling. I can’t make it through a single paragraph of an article if I dare scroll downward in not a perfectly straight line and it takes me to the previous page. I’ve stopped using DEV/Forem all together because it’s absolutely impossible to read anything when you have to go back to the email you opened the article from every 5 seconds to get back to reading because you were swiped back to the homepage

Buggy app crash a lot on basic functions
Crash after I open my profile after login. Crash after I open any article include mine. What a poor implementation
Serious iOS bug
Until they fix the bug I had to uninstall. Hard to read articles because back navigation is really sensitive and easily triggers when dragging down and reading

Not a single tab, window, feature is working. Can't even sign in with a code.

Love what Forem is doing with DEV and all the “sub forems”. My go to app!
UX? What's that?
Full of theme flashes, UI snaps, inaccessible menus, endless web view stacking, overly sensitive full screen swipe gestures, etc.
The other official dev.to app is miles better and it's not even that great itself. No clue who you guys are letting manage and/or QA this product but they should do something else instead.

Used to be awesome, then they broke dark mode
This used to be an app that was pretty well designed, then they released version 2 that resulted in one of the worst dark mode implementations I have ever seen. While flashes between screen, notifications and app bars are stuck in light mode, and some pages don’t seem to support dark mode at all. Real shame because dark mode used to be really well supported by this app.

Glorified browser
It’s basically a glorified browser and I have no idea why this app is allowed on the store. They also made the Dev.to website incredibly annoying by having a notification promoting the app constantly show up.

The sign up process via mobile app is confusing. You might need to hire a dedicated product manager or UX researcher to make the user experience better.

Just what I needed
The new Forem app makes it so much easier for me to fuel my DEV and CodeNewbie Community obsession wherever I am (which is currently at the Dentist). Cheers for community connection on the go!

Pretty snappy but clearly just a web view. The most useful feature would be actual push notifications which it doesn’t offer.
