Dictee — On-Device Dictation

Dictee is a private, on-device dictation app for iPhone. Tap the microphone, speak, and Dictee transcribes you. Then rewrite the result in the style you need — corrected, formal, concise, or friendly — and have it read back to you in a natural voice. Everything happens on your iPhone, powered by Apple's MLX framework. Your voice and transcripts never leave the device. WHY DICTEE • Private by design — no accounts, no cloud, no analytics, no tracking. Apple's app sandbox keeps your audio and text on your phone. • Works offline — no Wi-Fi or cellular connection needed once installed. • Fast — on-device AI means no round-trip to a server. • Honest — Dictee uses open-source AI models from Alibaba's Qwen team and the open-source community, all distributed under permissive licenses. REQUIREMENTS • iPhone 14 Pro or later. • iOS 18.6 or later. • ~2 GB of free storage for the bundled AI models. PRIVACY Dictee collects nothing. No usage analytics, no crash reports, no identifiers.
