Perfect dictation even for my speech impediment.
I found this app with help from Claude AI, and downloading the on-device Whisper Small model has been a game changer for me. I have a speech impediment and rely on voice dictation daily, and this app understands me far more clearly than Apple's built-in dictation ever has. Being able to use it completely free, unlimited, and offline means a lot to me.
A couple of bugs I've run into: I get an orange error popup every time I finish dictating that says something went wrong, but the text comes through correctly anyway. Also, the keyboard doesn't seem to work until I open the Diction app itself first each session — it needs to "wake up" before it'll work in other apps.
Even with those bugs, this app has genuinely helped people understand me better. Thank you for building something this good and giving it away for free.

自建服务器在非会员的情况下，会自动把我模型给出的标点符号吃掉。你们的标点辅助功能，这个本身有点鸡肋吧，末尾自动加上句号，这个功能并不实用。不过，不至于在 试用期结束后，把自建模型产生的标点全部吃掉吧，吃掉以后几乎毫无实用性，只能开订阅或者会员？

Nice for da price!
. So um I have a problem typing at times my hands cramp I was uh born with a stroke, I know boo-hoo. The point is, is that um diction is affordable, rarely fails and is just reliable. And for someone like me I need that. So thank you, Diction.
Absolute amazing, secure, voice to text application!
I've been using this non-stop for two or three months now, and this is the exact application I wanted for this process. I wanted to be able to do it completely on device or through my own hosted voice transcription server, which this offers as well as extremely powerful. Or you can get really Powerful Third-party hosted solution that you can pay a small amount for. I'm extremely security and privacy conscious, so I wanted things I can control locally
The developer has added many new options over the months, including a newer model called NVIDIA Parakeet that is Is still extremely accurate, but smaller and significantly faster than the largest whisper model that was originally the best one in terms of accuracy.
This works extremely fast, even on device, on both my iPhone 17 Pro Max and my iPad Mini 7th generation (which uses the same CPU/SOC as the iPhone 15 Pro) which means it should be extremely fast on any modern iPhone or iPad.
Earlier versions had some minor bugs, but they have been fixed and the developer has been very responsive to the bug reports that I've made and they are working diligently to make this application better and better by day!

Better than Wispr Flow highly recommend
This app is truly incredible. It has all your bells and whistles and really great features that I really like and the local model Parakeet is very accurate. I used to be a Whisperflow user, and I just got sick and tired of having to context-switch and leave my app, and I feel like with this app, it's a lot more frictionless. Since the model locale you don't have to worry about your voice data being sent to a server if you just leave your microphone on all the time. I'm super satisfied with this app.

Perfect dictation even for my southern accent!
Works amazing. Especially on job sites with equipment running in the background. I'm using it now to leave this review. It looks very professional when texting with clients because it corrects my bad grammar and corrects some of my Southern accent. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Goodbye Siri Dictation
I've grown to be frustrated with Apples Siri and the dictation functionality. Too many times it gets it wrong with bad punctuation. Until diction arrived my workflow was to dictate on mobile using ChatGPT, copy it, then go into the app and paste my text. Too cumbersome! now with diction I self host whisper and I can seamlessly dictate. Love it.
