I would give it a five if it didn’t bounce around quite so much with my “Brain equivalents .” Also, along with Wikipedia, I believe they have the 1997 Soviet union’s Encyclopedia mentioned on occasion as reference material. I have no idea why.

To have such a most excellent resource to be conveniently found as a phone app only makes it more beloved. Whatever you missed or have forgotten from your various English classes can be made up for, clarified or expanded upon in this wonderful resource. I’ve had it for years and pretty much use it daily. Definitions, pronunciations, spellings, grammatical use, history and so much more. I treasure this app!

Essential in this day and age!
I really enjoy learning a new word, every day. I love flexibility of there being a “Thesaurus” available. There’s an entire section on just “Idioms.” It’ll read the word, so I can learn the correct pronunciation. I hear so many mispronounced words, today! There are word games, spelling challenges, historical facts, etc. it’s much, much more than just “ a dictionary”! I have the paid version and I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Advertised feature doesn’t work
One of the main reasons I bought this was because it’s supposed to let you highlight a word and get the definition via the Share Sheet which would save you from having to copy the word and paste it into another app, but that isn’t working. Instead it says “Not supported. We are sorry, this app is no longer supported. Please switch to one of the currently supported apps.“ The app is listed there so I hope they get this working again. Their email support says they’re working on it. Five stars await.
Besides that issue, it’s a very useful app. It shows a wide spectrum of information which saves me from having to look things up in multiple places. The UI could use a tiny bit of refinement but overall I like that it’s fast, not fancy.

My favorite dictionary
I can access it on my mobile devices as well as my windows laptop. Simple and fast, this app beats the big names.

Pro Purchase Not Restored
I already paid for the Pro version as a one-time purchase. After updating to the new app, my Pro access is gone and I’m being asked to pay again. This is not acceptable. Please restore my purchase.
Points not tallied
I have used this application for several years . It was part of morning routine . After generating 344 meals over the past several years , I have posted 2 in two years . Not getting credit due is a game breaker for myself. If these malfunctions continue , I will delete the app !
Well worth it
Tons of features and tools to learn new words. Love this dictionary app and in a world where too many developers think everything needs to be an ongoing subscription, this is a welcomed alternative.

Highly valuable dictionary with enhanced usage examples. Over the last year I can see they have invested in developing in-sentence usage examples, with citations and references where appropriate. Now I look forward to see their usage examples just as much as seeing the word definitions. Very well constructed and presented.

Words are so important and I really like this app. It’s simple. They don’t make it too complicated. You can still learn this stuff.
Great amount of Words and Phrases
This dictionary app is very serviceable when it comes to finding words you can’t always find on other dictionary apps. Google is one of the best resources to find any definition of a word that can’t be found in most dictionary apps.
I would say anyone who wants to use a dictionary app for almost all rhetorical language should use The Farlex Dictionary and Google to assist you on knowing the proper way of using the word and the grammar as well.

No Feed
As a daily participant , I’am very disappointed in the app. I have not earned any spoons since the beginning of the year. In addition despite several attempts on my touch screen the app will not upload categories. Now the application will not load to my I pad. It’s too bad because The Free Dictionary is wonderful when it works ! Here we go again. My profile has become a spinning wheel in this app. As a daily participant , this is very frustrating . Again , I have earned only one spoon the entire year! Once again , I was not credited with points . This has happened several times . Very frustrating . I have earned only 3 spoons the entire year . What’s going on !

What’s happening? Is there now an issue if you’re using a VPN ?Why aren’t points immediately posted? How many ‘neurons’ are need to feed a child? I access this daily and my so-called ‘neurons’ haven’t changed in months. How does that work?
I can’t find a simple rule book. How many NEURONS do we need to see this?

I like the ease of use in the convenience of it. It helps me through my every day task.
No offline mode
Though the app brags about it, the offline mode is unusable because there is no offline content can be used By Design. The developers don’t even care because it has remained same since many years. Many forum discussion but to no avail. It’s just a price tag boasting app and nobody cares if it even works or not.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, you must first download the offline content, and that requires an Internet connection. After that, though, you can access the offline content without an Internet connection.
Went from good to useless in the latest upgrade
Why are apps so hellbent for leather to become unusable? Do y’all even know what a thesaurus is?
