Fed up of this app crashing!! Hasn't been updated in 2 years and not sure anyone's monitoring these reviews. Awful
Very useful
I use this a lot when talking to my French tutor and as I learn. I’ve never found another resource that gives me words and phrases in context like this and I don’t know wha I’d do without it.
Helpful to have PT-PT pronunciation
This app is helpful for learning European Portuguese but I have to use my work iPhone. Please bring back Android version.
Just a glorified third party tracker, download at your own expense
This app refuses to work if you don’t give it network access, and it even says “In order for our app to work, we need you to provide network access so we can track your location and build a profile of you.” Nice vague language to gloss over the fact that it’s probably building a consumer profile of you that it can sell to companies for profit. Just says “profile” as if it’s going to whip you up some kind of personal Duolingo learning profile. It’s not. No other dictionary requires your location and network access to function so don’t be an idiot and just get another dictionary or else you’re going to be slammed with corporate trackers and spam mail.

I love it but needs some fixing
I love the Linguee website - how intuitive and useful it is, and this is my favourite dictionary app, but it always freezes when I go in and out of the app. This makes switching between apps to translate quite annoying. Please can you fix this issue or suggest a solution for me - I am on iPhone13 Pro

You can download offline dictionary and use it without internet, which is usually when you need a dictionary on hand, which is awesome. Hope more apps were designed with user experience first.

Why require location for a dictionary app?
The app requires that the user permits location data prior to usage for so called “network access”. This doesn’t pass the smell test and appears gratuitous. The privacy policy states that it retain the full IP address for 14 days. This also seems way more than expected for a reference app.

Amazing
Almost a year of using this app on my journey to learn the French language. It’s been my constant companion in my courses of learning. Although easy to navigate, it freezes sometimes and other times some words are not given out as definitions but in its usage in sentences. Happens mostly with conjunctive words. I don’t mind that but that’s why I’ve taken out a star. What I love most about the app is when it tell you the gender of a word, what it means as a nous, verb, adverbs, conjunction etc. It’s an encyclopedia in the palm of my hands. To top it off, it can be downloaded and used offline, score!!!

Very handy
It’s awesome, especially on iPad or desktop — you can keep it open alongside the text you are reading. Sometimes there are crashes but generally I’ve still found it incredibly helpful — and it’s free!
Security Risk
Already had to give it a one-star simply due to the security risk this app poses. I shouldn't need to give an app local network permissions just to access a dictionary. This is really invasive and they don't provide any explanation for why they require this, which is really shady. So I'll be looking elsewhere, but I would advise against using this app if you value your privacy.
