What's New in Digicity
26.9
September 22, 2026
Digicity now runs on iPhone. The whole game, not a trimmed one — the same 128x128 map, the same simulation, the same saves. Hold the phone sideways: iPhone play is landscape only, because a landscape phone is short and wide and that is the dimension the layout had to answer to. The tool palette became a drawer that slides over the city and closes the moment you pick a tool. On iPad nothing has moved. Four eras that each bring something. In Scenario, an era's buildings now wait for that era, so reaching 1970 and reaching 2010 each hand you something new instead of everything arriving at once in 1930. The Service Era and The Logistics Era are both on sale now — the purchase screen used to stop at 1969 and tell you that was as far as the game went. Your grid can be overloaded. From 2010 a power plant is an amount of electricity, not just a circle on the map. A district drawing more than its plants supply goes dark at its edges, and the five plants finally differ in something other than reach: a wind turbine carries a hamlet, a nuclear plant carries a city. The 2010 report card grades whether your power and water kept up. Three ways to make power without burning anything — a Hydro Plant beside water, a Wind Turbine on high ground, and a Nuclear Plant anywhere you can afford one. None of them touches your air or your groundwater. Bus and train terminals, which extend how far your commute reaches without laying any track — but only if people can already get to the terminal. Water you can ruin. Industry and coal plants on the shore tip into the water beside them. A river that reaches the edge of the map carries it away; a lake with no outlet keeps it for decades. The tile inspector tells you which kind you are looking at before you build. The groundwater under your city can go bad the same way. Two new overlays — Road Access, so you can see which lots are stranded in the middle of a deep block, and Elevation, because "is this flat?" was unanswerable. A tram line is a street now, and lots along it grow. Laying track used to carry your passengers and develop absolutely nothing. Founding a city no longer means hunting for the spot. Scenario tints every legal site for your port, university or hospital and counts them, with Next site to walk the camera between them. Your map has woods on it.
