The best there is!

There is nothing better out there! Kudos, thanks, and glory to God!

Revolutionary, But Getting Worse

The Good: We have to acknowledge DCS is revolutionary and has changed the service landscape in America. They must be commended for this. I hope it will encourage people to learn the services rather than simply becoming a permanent crutch, but that’s not on them.

The Bad: The translations are constantly changing and getting progressively worse. Many are to the point of comedy at this point and every chanter talks about it. Moreover, since Ages was subsumed under the GOA, the order and wording of services can be and has been changed at will. This is not a healthy precedent if we become reliant on the DCS tool.

This app has been and continues to be glitchy, though I am sure that will improve with time.

Recommendation: Use Ages as an outline if you need it but sub the English text for HTM books, which will not change.

App still crashes on IPad

Still crashing when you close the app and reopen it. It doesn’t stay where you last left off goes back to the dates menu
Fantastic app as a chanter using it daily

Needs an update

It’s showing 2024 dates. Should have been updated in time for 2025 Holy Week. Also very confusing to use in the download menus and such.

Great app

Easy to use and offers both greek and English

Great app, easy to follow through the services. Please support iOS 18 dark and tinted app icons.

Great app no iOS 18 support

New Translations Are Indefensible

The original translations of Fr Seraphim are being systematically replaced by horrendous new ones. It’s so sad — this app has become unusable liturgically.

Not sure if it is the diocese is responsible or not, but these new translations are simply unacceptable. They’re inaccurate, unpoetic, and cringey. I’m a proponent of updating works when necessary, but it is crucial to have the humility to acknowledge when a mistake was made in updating, and not doubling down on the changes merely for the sake of preserving pride and ego. Please revert to the old translations ASAP and I will return to using this app again, along with my original five star rating.

A tool I use every day

I use this tool every day for the daily readings and honoring of the Saints. Also, our church uses it during Vespers service and other services that are outside of Sunday orthros & liturgy.

MP3s Solution

The MP3s will not play if your iPhone is in silent mode, even if you adjust the volume.

The best orthodox service app for everyone

I use this every day, is invaluable to prayer life and following along with the hymns and prayers of the church, has the prayers, music in byzantine and western notation, and even recordings built in. Thank you so much for this!

Easy to follow along

I’m a layperson who can read the Greek but cannot understand it so I love having Greek on one side and English on the other, as the church I attend does Sunday Orthros and Liturgy 100% in Greek.

I truly appreciate all the hard work and time spent to make this available to pay people! I used to print off a copy each week but now I just use my phone. Such a simple app to use!

Amazing!

An essential app to Orthodox Christians.

Amazing

This app is a great resource for those passioned about Byzantine chant and liturgy, and greatly helps your daily worship

Great App

Great app. I wish it just had the tones like a piano so I can hear the notes.

Great resource

I am an experienced western singer trying to learn the music of the Eastern Orthodox Church. This is a helpful resource for me. I do wish everything that is supposed to be sung has music or audio, but this has been a super helpful start. I also love hearing Fr Seraphim Dede’s voice (Father Bless!) - His style is simple and his voice is pleasant and not distracting :) Thank you!

This app is great.

A Great Help

Thank you.

Fantastic resource

A great tool. I hope many use, learn, download and donate to help support this initiative.

Texts and music available for offline use

This app offers the functionality of the DCS website. It allows the texts and music to be brought into the app while you have Wifi, and they are available within the app later even if you don't have a Wifi in the church. So helpful to have the service text and the music integrated and visible at the same time. What a great asset to the whole Church, thanks to the hard work of those at AGES Initiatives and the donations to this worthy nonprofit.
