THE GESTURE THAT GETS AWAY FROM YOU The phone is already in your hand, the app already open, and no decision was ever made: the hand moved before the intention did. That exact moment is what CogniShield interrupts. A CHALLENGE, NOT A DELAY When you open a protected app, a shield rises and draws a question at random: mental arithmetic, a logic sequence, an odd one out, a deduction. Nothing insurmountable — just enough for the mind to take the lead back from the reflex. Five question pools: mathematics and logic, matter and cosmos, the living world, geography, cognitive challenge. Three difficulty tiers, from light to genuinely deterrent. And a penalty you set yourself for a failed attempt. None of them leans on a national school curriculum: capitals, the periodic table and Rolle's theorem are asked the same way everywhere. FRICTION THAT FOLLOWS THE CONTEXT Difficulty adjusts on its own: • harder in the evening and at night, when vigilance drops; • harder when you protect a whole category rather than a single app; • never softer than the setting you chose — adaptation can tighten, never loosen. YOUR CONTRACT, YOUR RULES You choose the protected apps, the question pool, the tier, the penalty. You can loosen the protection or switch it off: CogniShield is a discipline tool, not a prison. A constraint is only worth something when it is chosen. WHAT COGNISHIELD NEVER DOES No reading of your usage. No activity report. CogniShield does not know how much time you spend in your apps, and does not try to find out. The apps you protect are identified by opaque tokens supplied by iOS: the app cannot decode them, so it never has access to their names. Nothing leaves your device: no account, no server, no tracker. FREE, AND WHAT THE SUBSCRIPTION ADDS Without a subscription: two protected apps, the Mathematics and logic pool — backed by a generative source, so it never runs dry —, all three tiers and the penalty. The cognitive wall works in full. Premium adds: an unlimited number of apps, blocking whole categories, the four written pools (matter and cosmos, the living world, geography, cognitive challenge) and context-adaptive friction. BEFORE YOU INSTALL CogniShield builds on Apple's Screen Time and will ask for the matching permission on first launch. Without it, the shield cannot rise.
