Functionality deliberately degraded

This app and a couple similar apps (iris vision and myopia VR) have had their useful functionality degraded. Guess Apple is intending to launch its own version or makers of expensive visual aides are paying developer to do this or IP is being contested.

Broken

The app only displays an image on one side of the phone. No option on the watch remote app fixes this.
