Dilution Instrument

This app calculates the amount of water to dilute a known volume and percentage of alcohol. The user enters the number of liters, gallons, or ounces of the sample to be diluted, the known alcohol percentage of the sample, and the desired final alcohol percentage. The app will then calculate the amount of water to add in liters, gallons, or ounces. Calculations are based on density values at 20 degrees Celsius from the International Alcoholometric Tables - OIML. Results are approximate values only, but are significantly more accurate than standard dilutions equations because it accounts for the volumetric contraction of alcohol/water solutions. Care should be taken to prevent over-dilution of your spirits.
