About

Diploma GDC is a graphing calculator and study companion built for one course: IB Diploma Mathematics. It covers Analysis & Approaches and Applications & Interpretation, at both Standard and Higher Level. Everything runs on your device. There is no account, no sign-in and no network connection of any kind — so it works on a plane or on a phone with no SIM. Nothing about you is collected, because nothing about you is sent. A NOTEBOOK, NOT JUST A KEYPAD The home screen is a page, not a calculator. Each line computes where you wrote it, and editing any line re-runs everything below it. Under every result sits a row of actions chosen by what the result actually is: a function offers Graph, Table, d/dx, the integral, roots and turning points; a list offers 1-Var Stats, a box plot and a histogram; a matrix offers determinant, inverse, RREF, transpose and eigenvalues. Tap one and the tool opens in place. If you would rather have the familiar surface, the Calculate tab keeps a keypad, an answer line and a scrolling history, sharing the same engine and the same stored variables. MATHS THAT LOOKS LIKE MATHS Fractions stack. Roots take a proper vinculum. Integrals carry their limits, and sums carry their index. The caret walks the structure rather than the characters. Type a slash on a hardware keyboard and you get a real fraction. GRAPHING Up to eight functions in distinguishable colours: cartesian, parametric, polar and shaded inequalities. Pan and pinch track your finger exactly. The stroke breaks where a function is undefined and where it leaps, so 1/x and tan x show honest gaps instead of vertical lines pretending to be asymptotes. Analysis finds roots, intersections, turning points, tangents and normals, and the area between curves. STATISTICS One and two-variable statistics; linear, quadratic, cubic, exponential, power and sinusoidal regression with r and r squared; normal, binomial, Poisson and t distributions with inverses; t-tests, chi-squared tests for independence and goodness of fit, and one-way ANOVA; Markov chains and Voronoi diagrams for Applications students. CALCULUS Numeric and symbolic differentiation, definite and indefinite integrals, tangent and normal lines, Riemann sums, differential equations by Euler's method, and kinematics. AND THE REST OF THE SYLLABUS Matrices and vectors, complex numbers in every form, sequences and series, financial mathematics including TVM, simultaneous equations and polynomial solvers, conic sections, geometry, number theory tools, unit conversion, a spreadsheet, probability simulation, and a programming language — written and run entirely inside the app. BUILT FOR THE COURSE, NOT JUST THE MATHS Choose AA SL, AA HL, AI SL or AI HL and the app hides every tool outside your syllabus, and filters the formula reference to match. Answers show in exact form — fractions, surds and multiples of pi — alongside the decimal, at three significant figures by default. ABOUT YOUR REAL CALCULATOR No phone or tablet is allowed in an IB examination, and this app is written to respect that rather than work around it. The Toolkit tab carries the keystroke sequences for the graphing calculators students actually sit the paper with, so the skill transfers to the hardware. Tools that no exam calculator can do are badged Study only. A computer algebra system is included for checking your work, but it is switched off by default behind an explanation, and while it is on a banner says so — because approved exam calculators deliberately exclude one, and a habit built on it will not survive the exam hall. ACCESSIBILITY Full VoiceOver support with spoken names for every key, Dynamic Type throughout, Reduce Motion respected, and dark mode. Free, with no advertising, no analytics and no in-app purchases. The practice question bank and the GDC keystroke trainer are included, along with every calculating feature.
